Holy shit this is actually insane.
This needs to be shot down, like what the heck are we doing here

🚨 It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.
This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.
Please spread the word.

yes, we're trying to update nightshade as well.
but we need to fix the "true" bug first...
We're testing an updated release of Glaze for NVidia 50xx GPUs. If you have one of those chips, and want to help us test out the new binary, add a comment below. We just need a few volunteers to make sure the new binary works as planned. Thx.

AI, for those who can't, don't, and won't.
99% sure you’re doing the same thing as everyone else who complains about login problems. Your login is your login name. NOT your email address.
Is this for a nvidia 50xx gpu?

Posts from @weratedogs.com continue not to disappoint.
Sarah, Karla, many of these artists are friends who have collaborated with us over the years. 12million downloads and we’re still going strong. The new nonprofit will help us with more resources, and better software updates and fixing user issues.
Cool. Sent to your DMs
Oh wait you can’t hmmm. So how do I send you an invite. I don’t want to dig thru tons of emails on the list. Do you have another account somewhere.
Hmm I see. Interesting. Didn’t know that about bsky DMs. Must be a newish thing. Check your DMs.
Yeah we don’t really do requests by email. Our instructions on the webpage are pretty clear.
We’re aware of this bug. Trying to work on it but we don’t have software engineers on staff and none of us use windows. So it’s slow going
Huh. I don’t see a request from you.
Some of my fav books and movies. V for vendetta is everything.
It's my BIRTHDAY~! And in the age honored tradition of social media I humbly request a repost of my artwork~!
Your guess is correct. We’re working on a new update. Testing done. Just making binaries. Should be soon.
yes, this is referenced in multiple lawsuits, where magazines, news orgs complain that AI is somehow bypassing their paywalls to train on their content.
hmm, maybe don't use a broken paywall!
My best guess is they don't understand tech, and have no idea that the paywall is serving their articles on a plate to AI.
Please, someone tell the heads of these orgs what they are actually doing. And they wonder why they have no leverage in licensing talks. Why license when scraping is free. smh
I love orgs like WashingtonPost, New Yorker etc. And I subscribe to several to support their journalism. But I hate that they use these useless paywalls that only benefit AI scrapers.
To be clear, they can build a paywall that also block AI. Block all users, only allow downloads AFTER login.
So what is an antiquated tool to block off content is now a tool that selectively serves content to the thousands of AI scrapers looking to train on your content. Instead of serving readers, these organizations are serving their writers' hard work to AI models on a plate, while blocking humans.
Why is this an issue? It worked fine for years because Internet users see a blocked page, get frustrated, then click through to subscribe to membership or just go away.
It is an issue now because AI. AI scrapers don't care. They just parse the code, extract the article text and move on.
A rant. I (Ben) have multiple pending deadlines, but am very frustrated tonight. I need to rant about how awful paywalled magazines/news sites are.
Why? Because their paywalls are trivial to break. Paywalls built using javascript actually download the full article, then put up a wall to block it.
Yeah. It’s a tough test and a little scary tbh
Honestly, we don't know. The fact that it has started creeping into my playlists is part of what pushed us to accelerate this project. In the days/years ahead, I think we will all have to figure out how to distinguished between human and AI music. Very concerned for human musicians.
