99% sure you’re doing the same thing as everyone else who complains about login problems. Your login is your login name. NOT your email address.

Tech executives have finally amassed their ultimate, long dreamed-of power: to summarily fire anyone who speaks ill of their desire to have sex with robots

Sarah, Karla, many of these artists are friends who have collaborated with us over the years. 12million downloads and we’re still going strong. The new nonprofit will help us with more resources, and better software updates and fixing user issues.

Yeah we don’t really do requests by email. Our instructions on the webpage are pretty clear.

We’re aware of this bug. Trying to work on it but we don’t have software engineers on staff and none of us use windows. So it’s slow going

07.02.2026 15:45 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Huh. I don’t see a request from you.

Your guess is correct. We’re working on a new update. Testing done. Just making binaries. Should be soon.

31.01.2026 06:31 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

yes, this is referenced in multiple lawsuits, where magazines, news orgs complain that AI is somehow bypassing their paywalls to train on their content.

hmm, maybe don't use a broken paywall!

30.01.2026 03:05 β€” πŸ‘ 34    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

My best guess is they don't understand tech, and have no idea that the paywall is serving their articles on a plate to AI.

Please, someone tell the heads of these orgs what they are actually doing. And they wonder why they have no leverage in licensing talks. Why license when scraping is free. smh

30.01.2026 03:04 β€” πŸ‘ 19    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I love orgs like WashingtonPost, New Yorker etc. And I subscribe to several to support their journalism. But I hate that they use these useless paywalls that only benefit AI scrapers.

To be clear, they can build a paywall that also block AI. Block all users, only allow downloads AFTER login.

30.01.2026 02:59 β€” πŸ‘ 125    πŸ” 9    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

So what is an antiquated tool to block off content is now a tool that selectively serves content to the thousands of AI scrapers looking to train on your content. Instead of serving readers, these organizations are serving their writers' hard work to AI models on a plate, while blocking humans.

30.01.2026 02:55 β€” πŸ‘ 138    πŸ” 18    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 1

Why is this an issue? It worked fine for years because Internet users see a blocked page, get frustrated, then click through to subscribe to membership or just go away.

It is an issue now because AI. AI scrapers don't care. They just parse the code, extract the article text and move on.

30.01.2026 02:54 β€” πŸ‘ 101    πŸ” 14    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

A rant. I (Ben) have multiple pending deadlines, but am very frustrated tonight. I need to rant about how awful paywalled magazines/news sites are.

Why? Because their paywalls are trivial to break. Paywalls built using javascript actually download the full article, then put up a wall to block it.

30.01.2026 02:52 β€” πŸ‘ 238    πŸ” 41    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 1

Yeah. It’s a tough test and a little scary tbh

27.01.2026 00:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Honestly, we don't know. The fact that it has started creeping into my playlists is part of what pushed us to accelerate this project. In the days/years ahead, I think we will all have to figure out how to distinguished between human and AI music. Very concerned for human musicians.

Your configuration is also dependent on your glaze install, which version it is, how it interacts with ns, which version of mbp, your network configuration and if resources were downloaded and if any errors occurred during downloading them.

24.01.2026 23:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You can use glaze. Nightshade is not a protective measure. It is an offensive measure. Glaze is the protection.

24.01.2026 23:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There’s no need to battle with a known bug. When we have a fix, we will of course tell people about it. In the meantime, there’s no sense in rerunning software that doesn’t work for your configuration.

24.01.2026 23:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Of course. We describe the experiment and the results and readers can draw their own conclusions about whatever limitations they see in the process and methodology

23.01.2026 17:21 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Perhaps a bit. But realistically we were not going to do a study where folks would sit down for 30 mins to listen to 10 songs. So the user study also limited us this way as well.
