Valerie the dachshund is found safe and well after 529 days on the run on South Australian island Rescuers on Kangaroo Island off South Australia say they are ‘overjoyed’ after the dog walked into one of their traps

Like sausage dogs are wonderful little critters, but they are also epic fucking dickheads, this is the most dachshund story ever.

For 18 months foreign journalists have been blocked from reporting freely in #Gaza. More than 150 of our Palestinian colleagues have been killed. We must keep demanding access. I'm speaking at the Frontline Club on May 6th alongside @arwadamon.bsky.social. Tix here:

I get the principle that Ian is putting forward here but to me it suggests how little we value the importance the common auditory space we all inhabit vs the visual. I see music etc played out loud on public transport as sonic littering, pure selfish entitlement to the detriment of all.

UK bands from the 80s all have bios like: "The group met at a government-funded arts mixer where they each received six months' rent tax-free" while for bands from the 2020s they're like "formed as a final year project at Goldsmiths, their first release was funded by interest from their trust funds"

I guess it could have been tree sap. But I feel like that would have been bitter. And definitely a less amusing story.

I was just cycling, doing breathing, clear blue skies through Victoria Park, and suddenly weird gritty, salty wet in my mouth. I assume it was a bird.
I spat ferociously for at least a mile.

A bird once shat in my mouth while I was cycling.
