Every stamp has their own little quirks, tiny misprints, smudges, they’re off register, there’s not enough ink, tooth of the envelopes differ, just like with riso, screen prints, etc. They’re all unique and they belong to you, and I think that's beautiful

Every stamp is someone I share a fandom with because of fan art. Or someone who likes the pieces that aren't popular but are my favorites. Every stamp on every single Dysphoria donation has a name attached to it that I'll never forget

There's a human to human connection that's quietly exchanged between people when anyone makes something for someone else. That's the whole point of art. And it's never quite the same no matter how many times you do it.

Every logo on every package I ship out is stamped by hand. I’ve read all your names, all the cities and all the states you come from, and all the artwork you cared enough about to buy from me. I’ve gone through hundreds and hundreds of these and I personally stamp every one of them

Some thoughts: When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge. You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be. Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history. You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired. Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

At last, I have finished my drawing! Here it is: ink drawing featuring 12 princesses walking in side profile to the right.
