Lake George still looks lake-like.
Bike off the rack now, rack off the towbar and towbar off the car.
Mostly unpacked. Laundry in the machine.

Whoa! Didnโt expect to wake up to this news.
โA year into Trumpโs term, voters say Biden was better.โ
Trumpโs net approval on the economy is now -18. Thatโs 26 points worse than this point in his first term and a brutal 53 points lower among independents.

11.02.2026 23:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Reminder that Starbucksโ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.
Now, Starbucks is lifting a cap on the CEO's use of a private jet to commute from California to Seattle.
It's been four years since Starbucks stores began unionizing and workers still don't have a contract.
The corruption of the 'Australian way of life' laid bare, how to convince the other 95% of the populous that where we are is on a shite trajectory.

10.02.2026 13:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It seems for all the economists we have, only the ones that support corporate profits and vested interests are heeded by government. I find this disturbing. It means better ideas have less chance as people who want to be paid for their work realise the people as their focus isnโt wanted. #economy ๐ค
10.02.2026 13:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yep: fiscal policy vs monetary policy.
Politicians pretend the latter has to do โall the heavy liftingโ when, really, theyโre just trying to wriggle off the hook; blame someone else.
We care. And we outnumber them.

How can the average unemployed person feel secure in new employment. If all the people wanting and needing work were to find it - the RBA would have conniptions - and itโs likely these wouldnโt increase inflation much at all. Being new workers, possibly on minimum wages: also the first to go.
10.02.2026 11:55 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The RBA wants more unemployment so wages are kept lower. They said so.
10.02.2026 11:50 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The more I look at our economy, and the levers that exist to keep things affordable when inflation rises and unemployment falls, the more I think more levers are needed.Simply raising or lowering interest rates only affects mortgage holders and people with savings. Workers wages unaffected. ๐ค

lol. Ummm yes? ๐ Their chief executives seem to get bonuses on top of being very well paid. Why not their hard working employees?
Especially the ones pulling all nighters to keep the company rolling?
The average #rental price is $650/week in Australia. This is more than the total per week a JobSeeker gets, of $849.90 (maximum payment possible per fortnight). The maximum amount of rent assistance that person can get is if sharing $143.60 or if living alone $215.40. =#homeless!

Ending a national rental affordability scheme (NRAS) in a housing crisis without any obvious solutions hitting the ground in any way at all is literally a government investing in classist power trips over people they leave destitute. ๐คฌ #auspol #housing
Thanks for reposting. Serious issues. Economic matters really matter. When the government tells us theyโre helping and the sums they leave us to work with donโt cover expenses - it has to be pointed out. Primary school kids can do the math. Why canโt our leaders? ๐ค #auspol #Housing #livingexpenses
