A famous climate graphic is running out of red Scientists added a new shade to a graphical representation of global temperature change to keep up with our warming world.

Stripes can be so engaging.
For many of my students, the "climate stripes" are the most striking example which helps them understand how #visualization can transport important messages in a glance.

I just hope we can limit the number of added colors in the future :/

Alright, just had my last presentation at 🌴 IEEE VIS for this year (talked about #DaVE - dave-vis.com ) and while I am very happy for the discussions that are happening in the conference Discord, I cannot wait to meet everyone again in person. Let’s meet in #Vienna!

The data for the 2024 contest describes Sonar Imaging for Hydrothermal Systems and I'm already excited to see all the #visualization approaches that come out of it. All details here:

I'm still quite happy how last year's #SciVis Contest at #IEEEVIS turned out.

Wow, how is it Friday already? Another #ieeevis is coming to an end. Once again I’ll be going home with so many new insights, impressions and - most important to me - new connections and friends. Thanks for that ☺️
