I finished last week with a beautiful paper accepted & started this one with an even more beautiful paper rejected…
I’ve put my heart in both, and I feel sorry for those who made the lab work but didn’t get the reward we hoped for. We’ll revise, improve, submit elsewhere. #MOFs
MOFES'26 💎
Being back to India after 20 years also came with a wonderful #MOFES conference. Great talks, smooth organization, friends from overseas, peaceful campus, spicy food, fresh juices and crazy traffic.
Thanks #IncredibleIndia for having me!
Prof. Tapas Maji and the volunteers did amazing!
We give away all our #design secrets, with illustrated examples, from simple to intricate cases!
And it’s free, perfectly wrapping 2025, a historical year for reticular chemistry! 💎

SPECIAL ISSUE.
Since our review first went online for a special issue (unofficially) dedicated to his 60th birthday, Omar Yaghi not only turned 60 but also received the 2025 #NobelPrize in #Chemistry for the development of #MOFs.
Happy to see my artwork illustrating the issue!
I’m pushing a little more each time when it comes to submitting papers. Started by tabulated isotherms, but the next one we’ll submit will have, in addition to .cif and .aif, raw PXRD and NMR files.
I don’t feel like the most beloved supervisor 🫶, but if we must fill a gap for #compchem. #MOfs
This one impressed me a lot!

Have you ever struggled, trying to make stable, crystalline Cr-MOFs?💎
Even by transmetalating Fe-MOFs?
I did. Many did!
That’s why we developed a new route to single crystalline, stable Cr-MOFs from In and Co parents #MOFs.
Fresh off the press in @jacs.acspublications.org

When you want to connect to @acs.org platform as reviewer but you select the author role by mistake and realize you have fresh proofs to go through! 🤩💎
#MOFs
I coauthored a review where my PI was both corresponding and first author. My name ended up last on the paper, likely because my contribution was limited. The paper is cited 800+ times. 🤷
I also have maybe 10+ papers where I am corresponding author but not last.
Good luck figuring out what's fair...
I saw many posts about the @nature.com #MOFs papers selection to celebrate the #NobelPrize in Chemistry, so I checked it out.
It turns out they also highlight the paper I'm the most proud of, designing isoreticular zeolitic MOFs, in the Fundamental research section! 💎
#ChemNobel @natsynth.nature.com
Here's my first MOF paper.💎
It was the first example of using a the premade Zr6 cluster, and we made fcu-MOFs (UiO-66 like) at room temperature.
I never stopped being amazed by #MOFs architecture since then and I definitely make nicer pictures too.

So the year was this year. 💎
#nobelprize #MOFs
Amazed by the beauty of MOFs and their promises. Each of the awardees has a work that was inspirational at some point in my research journey.
Congrats to their teams, it takes top notch people at every level in the lab to achieve what they did!
I was very excited by the upcoming @euromof.bsky.social lineup.💎
A talk the same day as my 3 mentors, Serre, Eddaoudi & Maspoch (@wearenanoup.bsky.social), plus a great session with @kenichiendo.bsky.social, Jose Giner, Wonyoung Choe, & Zhijie Chen.
Sadly, I can't make it. Have a great one!
#mofs
@crystengcomm.rsc.org, are the covers validated by a panel of elementary school experts in playdoh modelling and sandbox architecture?
Making a step aside full scientific accuracy for artistic purpose can be ok, but don't you see it went a bit far?
Clearly not serving the community's credibility.
Abstract submission is OPEN!
PhD students and postdocs — we’d love to see you in the Young Investigator Symposium!
Everyone — send in your posters or talks for the main event!
Can't wait to hear your science in New Orleans! 🎉⚜️

Literally “cutting-edge” chemistry!
Felicidades Daniel and the @wearenanoup.bsky.social team, that’s a masterpiece!

BACK TO BASICS... with a fresh twist! 💎
Last time I presented my work in France was... for my PhD defense🎓, about 15 years ago.
It was so wonderful getting the chance to show what we developed since then, at #frenchMOFs, with half of my defence jury & some former colleagues in the audience!
#MOFs
If you recognize your words, we need your help reproducing your work.💎 😅 1 week? 2 months? 📅 who cares?
"the obtained solution was left to evaporate at room temperature. One week later, light yellow block crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction were obtained by slow evaporation for two months"

May The 4th... be with you. 🌠
Happy #starwarsday2025. I used this artwork multiple times to highlight the #MOFs clip-off chemistry ✂️💎concept we developed with @wearenanoup.bsky.social, and happy to reuse it again!
Lab work was fun.

Will be about time for me to finally to start the #TopologyTuesday before the slot gets taken... 😅

#MOPs WITH A GECKO'S GRIP.💎🦎
I got the chance to write a #News&Views in @natchem.nature.com about a paper I enjoyed by @furukawas.bsky.social.
They made cool MOPs (that's not new) consistently packed in a diamond fashion, the same way geckos climb walls (that's super cool)!👇

Not by the beach, not this weekend, yet wrinkled desert sand evolving in the breeze is so satisfying to watch...
Changing the name to Shuhei "FurukaWaaF" in my contacts... Congrats again for this work full of achievements but also promises for the future of #MOPs and reticular chemistry.
Congrats @kenichiendo.bsky.social, @stecanossa.bsky.social and the Lotsch team!
A very beautiful and inspiring one merging features from both #MOFs and #COFs, finally out!
MERRY CHRISTMOF. 💎🎄
Fresh from the press, our #MOFs #design review in Advanced Materials provides basic and advanced knowledge to design porous materials.
We curated beautiful examples to illustrate state of the art strategies, and we hope you'll like it!!

💎 Ti-containing #MOFs are challenging in the making but worth the effort.
Just out in Adv. Mater., a nice collab effort between several #Kaust teams (not yet here), Rueping, Eddaoudi, Gascon.
Glad for the opportunity of being part of it!
Check it out! 💎
onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1...
Thanks a lot! I didn’t know that one!
I can’t blame that. Editorial world is so full of strict consistency rules that creative copy editing is probably the least of their concern.
Thank you Adv. Mater. for making me check what BASF actually means.
(Spoiler: Baden Aniline and Soda Factory.)
I see a loong, (un)productive night ahead, with your (unintuitive) proof system.
Luckily I am familiar with MTN, SOD, #MOFs (already defined though)
I still miss RHO if anyone has a clue.
