Today I worked on fixing a bug for an hour and half, and still haven't fixed it π.
Hopefully will smash it out next time, am getting close...

I've been simplifying and cleaning up the layout of the calendar (top: old, bottom: new). It's been a bit tedious refactoring this open source calendar to a more suitable visual style - but we're getting there.

Made some progress on coding my dashboard, now it properly sorts existing and past events.

I'm a bit closer to completing the design i posted a couple days ago. Now I need to fix the dashboard so it properly categorises past and future holidays.

Made a blog today

Worked on homepage landing page today. The design is templated, the copy is inaccurate and AI-written and the images are ripped straight off unsplash without much thought - but I just want to crack something out quickly for SEO and revisit this when I have a bit more brain space.

Redesigned my dashboard UI today in Figma (above is before, below is after), haven't coded this yet but will get to it. The idea is like, when you create a new holiday, it searches unsplash for the location e.g. Porto and uses that as the image which the user can then change.

Deployed my app to the web, redesigned the navbar, google auth now works on the web.

13.06.2025 09:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Long time since my last post, i got bored of my previous projects. Now I'm building a multi-user itinerary making app for planning holidays. Previously I've been planning holidays in Google Sheets, but I just want something a bit more custom.

Email is pretty good, with some updates
07.04.2025 17:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Managed to do some building today after work despite being quite tired. Shipped a new version of the new dashboard design, doesn't quite look the same but at least I can start polishing it now β¨

Hello, you should definitely utilise feeds and starter packs. The buildinpublic and technology feeds are pretty good. Lots of people also make starter packs of who to follow
14.03.2025 11:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did some more explorations on the dashboard design. I'm hoping to get it to a point where it just feels *right*

Managed to upload my app to testflight which is good. Means im this much closer to an app store release

Looks pretty ordinary, but i added some doughnut charts which show you your progress on reaching your macros. I also added a simple tool which calculates your macros based on height, weight, activity level etc.

Another day of working on my app, because this ones so much simpler than my last attempt, its like way easier to progress.
Today i updated to the new version of capacitor and fixed some bugs with the header. I want to redesign the dashboard. Its too detailed, need to simplify.

Hopped into Figma and did one more iteration on my app's UI, much happier with it

Today I set up a proxy server because the API I'm using needs it for security

Trying to improve my apps UI. Taking it into Figma to try wireframe and rejig it a bit.

So cute!
01.03.2025 15:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I gave up on my old idea, after more market research I realised that meal planning app's/recipe keepers are a saturated field.
Instead, I'm creating a much simpler idea - a simple daily nutrition tracker for meeting for protein/calorie goals. Today I finished a proof of concept.

14.12.2024 05:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I dont mind the drug jokes, in Aus heaps of stuff like that gets trendy. Its better to stand out than blend in. But the logo needs a lot of tightening, it looks a bit amateur and not like it was done by a graphic designer.
13.12.2024 02:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0To be honest then, hiring a good designer might still be the best bet. I donβt think AI can replace this sort of stuff quite yetβ¦ might be worth it if your website gets enough traffic
