It's a nice mental picture, and I don't want to take that away from you, but I think the truth was a little different.

NEW ESSAY: Jesus was a failed apocalyptic cult leader and we shouldn’t hold him up as a good role model for our children.

I know that’s a provocative statement, so here is my reasoning... (free gift link): medium.com/deconstructi...

The Relationship Illusion Why Christianity’s β€œpersonal Jesus” isn’t that special

β€œIt’s not a religion, it’s a relationship.”

That sounds profoundβ€”until you realize it’s just a relationship… with an imaginary friend. My new essay explores the psychology behind Christianity’s β€œpersonal Jesus” and why it’s not as uniqueβ€”or divineβ€”as believers think.

It's time to stop thinking about Christians as "the good guys" or Christianity as a "moral religion". It's never been that. It's always just been a PR facade to prop up an authoritarian ideology.

Grew up under a fully psycho fundamentalist father ! You couldn’t speak to him unless spoken to . You couldn’t associate with ppl not in the church . I was 14 before I had a non Christian friend over . Xtians are isolated because exposure to education destroys the mythology they push as facts

"As more experts abandon evangelical Christianity, evangelicals lose access to expertise. As they lose access to expertise, they become more suspicious of experts in general. And as they become more suspicious of experts, they drive away the few remaining intelligent voices within their…movement."

Why Martyrdom Stories Don’t Prove Christian Claims The myth of martyrdom: More flawed logic from Christian apologetics

Christian apologists often argue that the disciples’ willingness to die for their beliefs proves the truth of their claims about Jesus’ resurrection. At first glance, the idea is powerful and compelling. Yet, when we examine it more closely, this argument crumbles into dusty incoherence. (Free gift)

A Marriage Forged in Hell Christianity, Trumpism, and the art of hypocrisy

Christianity and Trumpism thrive on the same psychological architectureβ€”one that lets followers claim noble values while constantly violating them, all without ever perceiving the contradiction. I call it the "PR facade". My latest essay explores how it works. Read (free gift link):
