An incredible month of visits from amazing authors in our SLLC! Sade Smith, @kerncarter.bsky.social, and @aychanwrites.bsky.social all came to dazzle our students with their charm & wisdom, leaving us all eager to read, write, and embrace every aspect of our identities.

Just when I thought you couldn’t be more endearing… 🤷🏼♀️ Now you flex a Fluevog connection?!?
You really aren’t playing fair, Tod.
Proud to say I’ve already read Plague Thieves! And yes, many of Marsha’s books, too! Winterkill is still on my TBR list. 😉
Me too!
Apparently no one?
Okay #kidlit what’s new in #MGhistoricalfiction? Bonus points if you’re a @canscaip.bsky.social creator. #elbowsup!
I need a historical novel set outside of NA/UK. Would like something published recently (24/25). If you have something soon to be released, tell me about that, too!
Authors should have 3 letters ready to go right now:
1. A letter of support to send to teachers and librarians who are fighting for our books
2. A letter to the school/library board condemning book bans/promoting freedom to read
3. A letter to the editor promoting the freedom to read
So earlier this week this was announced:

Who do I know that is on StoryGraph?
My NYE tradition is spending it with great friends… this year we did a virtual paint night! Such fun.
Okay #libraryland…looking for books about the importance of libraries. Ideally school libraries. But public libraries, too.
Where can I find wide leg dressy-ish black pants? I’ve looked and can’t seem to find any that will hang nicely, be comfortable & fit my curves (they are either cut to fit a size 2 or a size 22… but nothing between)… 🤷🏼♀️
She’s part of a big community of strong women who will - one day - stand with her. Until then, tell her to look to the women in her life she admires & let them lead the way. She’s got this! 3/3
Someday all the lived experiences your daughter is having will shape her into the incredible human she is becoming. One with empathy, compassion,
kindness, wisdom, respect, resilience, and the knowing that comes from
struggling through the tough stuff. 2/3
It gets better. Today I learned I was nominated for a national advocacy award in my field. I learned how to speak up and speak out as an adult and fight for the kid I was back then. She didn’t have anyone to fight for her (it was a different time - we know better now).

Public education has been propped up by the unpaid/free labour of education workers for decades. We pump thousands of dollars of our personal time and funds into the system every year “because we love our students and want to help them succeed.”
That shouldn’t be our job. Or our problem.
After the light dusting we had last week, we’ve started talking about winter wonderlands at Dixon Grove Jr. Middle School. What do you wonder about snow?

What's a pic of you that could be an album cover:
This whole thing is a debacle that *should* be spelling the end for the Ford government.
How they continue to get away with this is beyond me…
Love this! 📚❤️📚❤️
Happy Birthday, Kevin!
Love it!!!
Look what my amazing partner bought this #bookdragon!
Oh, Claudia! 😂🤣😂 That you think I could come up with this is both very flattering and very amusing.
It’s no @claudiaosmond.bsky.social art… but I’m pretty happy with the results!
Beautiful capture!
This might be my new favourite word game!
And a statement from Groundwood Books…
