Very good meetings with several ministers, civil society, some of our project partners, media, #EU 🇪🇺 diplomats present in #Syria 🇸🇾… Building on the big support packages already in place, discussions went around the economy, media, transitional justice, capacity building etc.

Back from some busy and productive days in #Damascus 🇸🇾, together with our #EU delegation colleagues. Lots of people in the street to celebrate the announced lifting of sanctions by 🇺🇸, hoping for this to bring some of the desperately needed jobs

At the end of a busy day in Damascus 🇸🇾: passing by Syrians celebrating the end of US sanctions.

After more than 20 years - back to #Syria 🇸🇾. Last time I was (on a private trip) admiring the landscape and marvelling at historical treasures. This time it’s about a part of the #EU 🇪🇺 support to the people of this beautiful country.

We used the opportunity to explain a bit, what we in @EU_FPI are doing for 🇪🇺 #ForeignPolicyInAction across the world 🌍. Election observation, mine action, public diplomacy e.g. in Osaka 🇯🇵. Thank you to joint teams with our partners, and the many curious visitors.
