Just know the frustration is real and natural. you can return to art once it's all out and you're ready to give it a shot. and especially remember that your art is important, powerful and necessary, because it has YOUR voice. not just cause it looks good. :^)

so we view our own art differently. It's all natural and even artists with 50+ years under their belt experience it too on occasion. Allow yourself some healthy time and space to cry and scream about it! Have a big ugly tantrum about how unfair it is then cuddle someone you trust to talk about it.

it's less that it gets permanently easier, it just gets easier to recognize when you're falling into that sort of "dip" in the cycle, and eventually easier to recenter and climb out. As our art process develops and grows and we see more artists that inspire us, our personal visual standards shift++

its more standardized name is "pathological demand avoidance" (all main sources i can find are children-oriented) and it more regularly refers to the phenomena of "well you told me to/I'm being expected to do the thing so i don't wanna do the thing" but it spans a bit broader than just that.

Which in that case, it really is just a matter of consistently drawing *anyway* and self-soothing that it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to get done. it is admittedly excruciating the first many times, but it gets easier as you continue.

My best assumption is either autism task avoidance (which there's no real nice fix for other than "just do it even if you don't want to") or your personal visual standards demanding perfection and freaking you out.
