In which other lines of work do you learn these types of things about people? There have to be a bunch, but this type of journalism certainly has a very distinct mix of tertiary psychological insights

Thatβs not to mention the weird proclivities of when certain people are more inclined to get on the horn.
I always use the example of a source of mine who tends to be most available when idling in their car upon arriving home to avoid/delay seeing their family.
One of the weird things about being a reporter that I did not expect when I got into this racket:
You can really tell who has their life together when trying to get someone on the phone or get some sort of followup from a source.
I have been genuinely obsessed with this video and what it means for the future of CEOs appearing on camera

When Durbin asks Noem where she got that information, she basically had a chance to throw Stephen Miller under the bus. She did not take it (this time)

Iβm going to need to cut this line I like from a piece about the Iran War youβll read tomorrow, so I post it here to tell my darling I will see it in the gardens of heaven:
βWe will not get bored," Trump said on Monday, minutes before talking about how beautiful the White House drapes are.
π΄ NEW: 169 killed in attacks in South Sudan At least 169 people, including 90 civilians, were killed in South Sudan on Monday after militants raided a village in Abiemnom county, a remote area of the country, according to the Associated Press. The U.N. Mission in South Sudan said in a statement that 1,000 people sought shelter with its base after the attack. The killings are part of an escalating wave of violence gripping South Sudan as forces loyal to President Salva Kiir battle armed groups believed to be loyal to opposition leader Riek Machar.

Idk how much HBO had to spend to license those songs, but it was absolutely worth it.
This is a bombshell: "the Pentagon wanted the company to allow for the collection and analysis of unclassified, commercial bulk data on Americans, such as geolocation and web browsing data"

All weβve got is bombing βthroughout the week or as long as necessary,β per the presidentβs Truth Social post
Shortly after the first set of explosions, Iranians received bursts of notifications on their phones, not from the government advising caution, but from a prayer timing app called βBadeSaba Calendarβ which has been downloaded 5 million times from the Google Play Store. The messages arrived in quick succession over a period of 30 minutes, starting with the phrase βHelp Has Arrivedβ at 9:52 am Tehran time. No party has claimed responsibility for the hacks. Screenshots shared with WIRED Middle East show messages urging Iranian military personnel to surrender their weapons with the promise of amnesty. It also urged army personnel to join βthe forces of liberationβ and to βdefend your brothers.β
