To clarify, I don't hate Man of Steel. There's a lot to like in it, and it's a pretty good origin story (for the most part), but IMO Gunn Supes has the better Superman.

The film literally establishes he had NEVER lost a battle before the events of the movie, where he’s overpowered by a literal clone of himself programmed by Lex to be stronger than him, backed up by a support team who knows his every move.

He’s not weak, he never was. (3/3)

SO when Superman 2025 comes out and has a Superman with real responsibilities, a Superman who holds back to prevent collateral and protect humans above all, the Snyderbros get pissy and call him “weak”.

My take on the Superman discourse:

Snyderbros don’t want Superman, they want a power fantasy.

Man of Steel, the film they love so much, has zero Kryptonite, uses Clark’s inexperience as an excuse for the collateral damage, and takes place before he takes any real responsibility as Superman. (1/3)
