10) Policy Implications: To ensure equitable funding allocation, the following strategies could be considered:
- Incentivizing research on female-dominated cancers
- Promoting gender diversity on evaluation panels

9) In summary, female-dominated cancers receive less funding than male-dominated cancers, likely due to the overrepresentation of male researchers and higher share of male evaluators on panels (over 50% from 2007 to 2023), rather than gender gaps in grants, research outputs, or disease burden.

8) Another hypothesis is that male-dominated cancers may have a higher burden than female-dominated cancers, resulting in greater resource allocation. However, there is no clear evidence to support this hypothesis.

7) We test whether male-dominated cancers receive superior research outputs compared to female-dominated cancers. Our findings show that:
- No difference in research outputs between them
- ⬆️female evaluators in the panel ➡️ applicants with better research outputs.

6) We explore the role of researchers' gender and gender composition of evaluation panels. There are two key findings:
- No association between researchers’ gender and funding outcomes
