Key to efficient learning is realizing how we ACTUALLY learn, not just what FEELS like learning. I wrote a Claude Skill for some friends to help them think about this and they've liked it -- see Principles for some directions you could explore

Now I get to hear it whenever the Kraken play the Blackhawks!
4:45am, here I come. Time for bed!
He had a huge impact on my life, as I was coming into political consciousness during his runs. At 17 I volunteered at the 88 convention in Atlanta. I somehow managed to finagle a floor pass for his speech.
I mean, he called it a "match."
When he said there was "one minute left in the match," I knew I was not listening to a seasoned hockey announcer.
It was not Eddie O - he did the USA/Germany game, not the Canada/Finland game
I mean I realize I'm completely capable of looking it up for myself!

I'm about to go out for a ride in my biking *shorts*!
Sat eve Quantum Fiber told me they know my service is out and they're working hard to restore. Every 12h I get an email saying it's taking longer than expected to fix and they're sorry. Should I be impressed by their proactive communication or concerned by the fact that my Internet is fine?
If the ACA goes away I'll have to stop working for myself and go get a full-time job somewhere. My wife is a family therapist in private practice, so I'm the only one that can get a job with healthcare

“This is one reason why conservatives (and fellow travelers like Arnade) hate liberalism so much: free choice disproves their biological essentialism.”
An author interviewed men who felt they didn't get to be men now as their job should be to be protectors of women. "From what?" She asked. Invariably the answer came down to "bad men." They want there to be predators in the world so they can feel like "real men." www.instagram.com/reel/DFQEqKx...
Ugh I'm so sorry for my ignorance and stirring up more drama.
Ugh. Sorry. Well, now he's blocked from my side. He seems lovely
Mac Office used to be better than Windows Office because it made more money. Windows Office came bundled with lots of things Microsoft, but Mac Office was always stand alone. I'm guessing with everything moving to 365/online, they aren't putting much resource into either desktop offering.
They can keep doing it, but if you own your domain, you can transfer to a different registrar
I got a fund raising email from the DNC today. When I clicked "unsubscribe" they asked me to share why I was leaving. So I pasted in a link to this.
A close friend had the same thing happen. They had been building the company for 30 years, reinvested millions of profits. Employed 40 people. Probably completely gone
If you gave me the choice between
4 Bond movies are picked at random and I choose one to watch; or
1 Mission Impossible movie is selected at random and I have to watch it,
I'm taking MI every time. Same if it's Bourne. Not Star Wars, but if you let me pick from two, I'll take my chances with SW
This is one of the reasons I'm bad at woodworking. In software, where I do most of my creative work, you can almost always get back to the previous state at very low cost. It's hard (with modern tools) to make a irreversible negative step. I've discovered that's not true with saws.
I still have my account, but I haven't posted since Mar 2023. Only go on there to read links sent to me by others. Was a daily user.
I've never had a company say anything about my rates. The difficult negotiations are all IP issues. I just have a rate card and tell people what it costs (I pretty much only work under contacts that are $X per month for up to Y hours per month). So they can choose X and I tell them what Y will be.
