John is looking into a crystal formation which is repeating the image of his face like a kaleidoscope. The clearest image is in the center on a slightly flatter piece and then the rest is pretty haphazard. It’s all shades of blue. I bet the graphics team had fun with this one.

John is standing chest to chest with Larrin. He just saved her from a Wraith and she’s using the opportunity to distract him while she steals his stunner. In the background is a Lantian ship hallway with a big window showing stars outside. Larrin is being charming and John looks skeptical but interested. I like the flirting but Larrin generally has weird energy. The writers don’t know how to write women characters.

Oberoth and Elizabeth are facing off in a representation of the subconscious mind. The area around them is uniformly very dark blue and a dim light is shining down just overhead, centering them in a lighter blue triangle. They are both standing straight and still, though in reality Elizabeth has her hand physically in Oberoth’s head. Sci-fi is weird sometimes, man. Though honestly this isn’t even in the top 10 weird things on this show. It’s a really pretty visual too.

Sam is here!!! She’s dressed in her dress blues carrying a large briefcase and walking through the Stargate into the Atlantis gate room while smiling. On the left is a random airman assigned to guard the gate. Everything is better now.

Tragically beautiful image of Atlantis under siege at sunset. The shield is up, stopping the blast of the red energy beam shooting at them from straight above and the red fans out over the dome of the shield a good ways. Behind the shield on the left we can see that the sun is setting with a beautiful orange glow. The night sky looks dark purple with the contrasting colors so the whole image is gorgeous.

Atlantis is flying through space with the shield covering 80% of the city; the edges aren’t covered by the shield as it’s failing. It kinda looks like Atlantis is in a snow globe that someone just tossed in the air. The city being able to fly is one of the most badass parts of this show.

Teal’c, Daniel, Vala, and Tomin have just found the Ark in a very dusty pile of rubble in the ruins of a long-abandoned village. Daniel is the only one unbothered by the amount of dust which makes me wonder how many archaeologists have lung problems. Teal’c is actually semi reclined while everyone else is crouching. It would be interesting to learn how the props department decides what kinds of things should be mixed in with rubble. And do they have dust in a spray can?

SG1 is posing for a pic in the gateroom, presumably while filming the last scene where they go through the gate one last time. Sam, Vala, and Daniel have a small smirk but Teal’c and Cam are serious. There’s a random airman on the left side and six people are visible in the control room behind them including Walter in the center. What a nostalgic end to a great TV show.

SG1 is looking at the Stargate in the SGC as they prepare to go off on their next mission in the final moments of the episode. Sam, Daniel, and Cam are clustered on the left side and Vala and Teal’c are on the right. They all look wistful and contemplative with a mix of happy and sad as well. It’s the end of an era! We’re not crying, you’re crying!

Sam is in the engineering room of the Odyssey and has used their new matter converter to make herself a cello. The cello is in the left foreground. Sam is in center background with her body facing away towards the Asgard core and her head turned to look at the cello. I’m so glad she found some time for herself in all those years to do what made her happy.

Cam and Daniel on the left are listening to Vala’s father on the right while standing in his outlandishly decorated apartment. It’s giving budget Hugh Hefner. There’s a painting of a tiger and gold embellishments everywhere. We’re only seeing a small corner of it but the whole apartment is so visually overwhelming.

Ba’al has his back to the camera while talking to Adria in a specially constructed jail cell in the middle of a big room. I love Adria’s black bustier, it’s really cute. There’s also a Jaffa tucked in the black left corner of the image. I wonder if Ba’al’s Jaffa are ever surprised by what he does anymore.

Teal’c and Cam have their backs to the camera, looking at a museum lobby full of people in fancy dress who look very surprised to see them. Their outfits are giving sci-fi meets early 2000s wardrobe. There are display cases and statues scattered throughout the room. This may have been filmed in a posh school.

I love this shot of broody Teal’c! He’s standing just inside the opening of a tent, so the tent cloth is most of what we see and it’s framing his face beautifully. He’s wearing his Jaffa robes and looking thoughtfully into the distance with his brows slightly furrowed.

Daniel has returned as a prior so he has the customary white powder makeup with 3D doodles on his face and white tinted hairspray. He’s wearing a standard issue gray jumpsuit. Behind him is a tall chair back and then the window where we see that the ship he’s on is traveling through hyperspace. The sky is a lovely blue and purple combo that’s pleasant to look at. Daniel is looking to his right and is in mid speech. It was fun seeing Daniel like this and I would think Michael Shanks had fun with it too. The makeup was only temporary after all.

Cam and Vala are at Cam’s parents’ house in Kansas. All four are sitting outside at a picnic table with a fruit design tablecloth and they’re eating pie. The house in the background is moderately large and barn red with white trim. There are lots of flowers everywhere in the background. I love Vala’s enthusiasm for pie. And of course what she tells his parents when Cam leaves. 😈

I just love this photo of Sam. She looks so genuinely happy and I’m not even sure why in the context of this scene; I would have to go back and watch it. Anyway Sam looks happy and she’s standing in a library off-world so there are old books in the background and lots of aged ikea candles.

Daddy Hammond is back! He’s on the left and he’s facing mostly away from the camera as he watches Sam on a monitor, likely while standing in the control room based on the computers and stairs in the background. Sam on the monitor looks very distressed and is looking straight into the camera.

Adria has been turning off her orange eye glow since actress Morena Baccarin couldn’t stand wearing the contacts all the time, so Adria is showing Daniel that her eyes can still glow when he asks about it. The image mostly shows Adria with her glowing eyes, nice updo, shield necklace, leather bustier, and metal epaulets. The blurry back of Daniel’s head is visible in the right foreground. There is a mossy cave entrance behind Adria. Adria sure does know how to serve in any occasion.

Hey look! A CGI dragon! Although technically it’s a wyvern since it doesn’t have front legs. It doesn’t look too bad in this still shot but the moving shots in the show look kinda silly. They only have so much budget for dragons 😂 The dragon’s body is shades of gray and its wings are leathery brown. I usually love dragons but I have to admit that this one was a little underwhelming.

Puppet versions of Walter and Hammond are in a puppet scaled control room. The window to the gate room is on the right and in the back we can see a computer and a whiteboard. Their uniforms look impressively accurate from what I can tell. We’ll take Daddy Hammond in any form, anywhere!

Sam is making a concentrating face at a computer screen with four Ba’al clones standing behind her. The clones are wearing matching jumpsuits with numbers on them and they all have some kind of weapon. In the background are file boxes and a card storage system like you would see in an old library that still uses Dewey decimal. I really wonder how the clones figured out a hierarchy.

Vala, Teal’c, Cam, and Sam are sitting on four sides of a table playing poker with Landry standing in the back looking on. They’re in Jack’s cabin so we can also see a fireplace, a bookshelf, and various trinkets on shelves. The walls are wood paneling of course. Teal’c has the most chips followed by Sam, then Vala, then Cam in a clear last place with disorganized chips. Give Vala some time and I bet she’ll end up the best at poker.

Dr. Hutchison is showing an inkblot image to Vala during her psych evaluation. We can see the edge of the back of Vala’s head in the left foreground. Dr. Hutchison is wearing a dark gray suit and rectangular glasses. For the inkblot, I personally see a human ribcage but I suppose that’s subjective! It could also be an alien bug with very oddly shaped wings. Or maybe even the top half of a stormtrooper helmet with a banana splat on top. If turned sideways, it could be an anatomical drawing of a human breast with the glands and mammary sack or whatever it’s called. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually looked at an anatomical drawing of a breast before.

Morgan Le Fey is posing as a schoolteacher in the hologram room on Atlantis. Her white clothes are glowing and she has a bright light pointed at her head from above. She has a neutral but pleasant look on her face. The green and brown walls of the room are visible behind her.

Merlin is in an outfit reminiscent of The Sword in the Stone except silver instead of blue. He’s wearing a full body wizard robe in a shiny silver with a matching hat that is stiff at the bottom and floppy on top. He’s also wearing a pendant with a large dark red stone held by a gold chain. His hair and beard are white and long. His head is tilted down slightly while looking up and his hands are raised to eye level in a welcoming gesture. There are stone walls behind him and a torch burning on the wall. I do feel like they’re really toeing the line between myth accuracy and goofiness.

This is young Adria at about age 8-12 played by Jodelle Ferland of Twilight and Dark Matter fame. The Twilight comparison continues with how Adria ages quickly just like Rumplestiltskin, I mean Renesmee. Young Adria has golden eyes and dark hair. She’s wearing vaguely medieval dress with a bonnet that ties under her chin. Her primary colors are dark red and gold. She’s sitting in a very ornate high back chair, there’s some kind of blurry jug visible in the foreground, and a blurry bed barely visible in the background. This may be the creepiest age for Adria, though the toddler was also pretty freaky.

A Wraith Queen is strapped to a gurney style table without rails. She is looking at Teyla who has her back to the camera so that we can only see the back left of her head and her left shoulder. The queen’s outfit is very goth chic with a hint of dragon princess. Her bustier with straps is made of strips of black leather and so are her arm braces. Her flowy pants have layers to them too but we can really see them here. Her skin tone is light green with blue around her eyes. She’s killing it on looks as far as a wraith goes.

This time Michael has Teyla strapped to a metal table in a very sketchy underground lab that would definitely not pass a health inspection. She’s looking to the right and generally in the direction of the camera and she’s very worried. Micheal is to her left fidgeting with something we can’t see. The background objects are very early Frankenstein and the lighting definitely gives evil lair. Michael’s outfit is brown leather with layers on the arms. He has short white hair and his skin tone is looking more human now. Arezou says he’s giving Christian Slater.

Jamus, an older slightly balding white guy, is explaining how their life-saving modules work to John, and John looks mildly confused. They’re in a 1960s style moon base, so the wall behind them is covered in various gadgets and vents; there’s a lot of blue and gray but a little gold here and there too. John is in his usual gear and Jamus’ outfit looks like a stereotypical sci-fi rando who has advanced past the medieval era into more modern clothing, also in blue and gray.

Carson and Rodney are standing on a pier on the edge of Atlantis with the whole city in the background and dusk lighting. Carson appears out of phase since he has already passed and Rodney is now hallucinating one last conversation with him. As silly as the show can be sometimes, they also do poignant and emotional very well. Farewell, dear friend.
