The right is always happy to weaponise mental health and disability. It just depends on the day whether they’re arguing you’re incapable because of it or you’re faking having it.
Every hospital in England has been urged to disobey an NHS directive to use software operated by controversial US analytics software company Palantir

🏥 First NHS evaluation: embedded psychologists improve patient engagement, emotional adjustment, and recovery in new Bristol Major Trauma Centre.
Clinicians also valued support for themselves: "quite difficult emotionally for us day in, day out."

“Right now, a vulnerable person in the middle of a mental (or physical) health crisis may have to call firm after firm, and government agencies on top, repeating the same painful, possibly embarrassing or triggering explanation again and again"

A really interesting blog on how the use of AI Chatbots As "Therapists" makes the "therapeutic culture" more entrenched in our lives and what this means for our human relationships and sense of community

hey all, check out my first piece on Mad studies! it was published in @asylummagazine.bsky.social in 2024. the essay looks at the construction of dominant emotional experience—how those diagnosed with borderline are oppressed because of “Sane Emotional Experience.” open.substack.com/pub/tenderly...

btw I'd say for discussions on co-production it's extremely important to set boundaries as the risk of extractive behaviour and exploitation is high. As is danger of careless treatment of those involved in collaboration and partnerships. But it's not a term all will understand, or know how to action
Thank you very much for your thoughts here. I really appreciate what you are saying about *boundary setting and self care" and the need to look at these critically. *Self-care* in particular takes us away from more collective and community based/communal forms of care
I ❤️❤️❤️ this. Good points, excellently made. Only thing I'd add is sometimes our solutions are still rooted in the Westernised, commodified approaches we're seeking to dismantle (e.g. 'boundary setting & self care'). Doesn't invalidate them, but is worth considering from a critical perspective.
