I understand your frustration but we are a legislative office and are per our city charter legally unable to step into an admin function. As a legislative office we’re working hard to craft policies for accountability to put in place in time for contract renewal, which would be up to council.

I’m grateful for your dedication and generally share your sentiments - and your frustrations, as someone who also frequently runs into improperly parked scooters I have to move out of the way in my district. @brentblackaby.bsky.social and I are working on it.

While the city has limited resources and not every email can be responded to, there is staff assigned to review these emails. Furthermore per the Veo/Lime contract with the city they’re required to move these devices within 3* hours of a report.

I’m genuinely sorry you’ve been put in a position to have to take it upon yourself to do this. I’ve been working on an accountability framework for shared micromobility devices since last summer. Pls email mobility@berkeleyca.gov with this particular request, as it is a city administration function.

If a scooter is owned by Lime, you can follow the same process to email help-Berkeley@li.me and cc mobility@berkeleyca.gov.

If in #district4 (Downtown, Central Berkeley, and North Shattuck south of Dwight), please also cc my office @ itregub@berkeleyca.gov.

They are not exempt. Please continue to report these scooters directly to Veo by emailing BKLOps@veoride.com and copy sharedmobility@berkeleyca.gov.

If possible add a photo showing the four-digit frame number on the front of the scooter, or the IOT number just below the QR code on the handlebars.
