Since the passage of The Patriot Act, the government has frequently cited "national security issues" as a catch-all excuse to justify various indiscretions, acting as a universal "get out of jail free" card.
Klobuchar, Schumer, and others seem weak and intimidated, likely influenced by wealthy donors and interested in their own tax cuts. It's time for fresh leadership in the Senate.
