So if the dynasties are vying for the crown of Ondarion…

…That means the white, European royals could technically rule over Dambele.

That doesn’t seem progressive to me.

I’d rather Dambele, Verdemar and Bellacorde were separate Kingdoms entirely. Otherwise it just seems problematic.

I also think there’s something deeply colonial about a West African Kingdom being part of a greater—European—Kingdom named Ondarion.

But maybe I’m too woke? 🤔

Dambele should have been a separate world offering a richer exploration of West African culture.

A neighbourhood of three to four lots isn’t ideal representation.

So, I intend to stick around and show the buyers and EA there is value in our beliefs, values and lived experiences.

If they make the game more conservative I won’t buy their content. If they make it more Woke, then sure. Take my simoleons!

My plan going forward is to play the game my way—which is loudly LGBTQ+ and Woke!

As an LGBTQ+ person, I’ve often been in rooms where I wasn’t welcome. This will be the same I suppose.

But those rooms only changed when I was in them and I’m sure many LGBTQ+ people can relate.

I’m also considering returning to The Sims, despite my boycott.

The Sims has been a constant presence in my life since I was 4. It helped me navigate my depression and come to terms with my sexuality. It was always there for me.

And I really could’ve used the game these last two months 😔

I haven’t posted on here, or played any video games for months, due to a difficult situation in my personal life.

Fortunately, the road ahead looks a lot brighter heading into 2026. So I hope to get back on here socialising and sharing the games I’m playing.
