10.10.2025 13:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's darkly ironic how many people will tell you that AI damages critical thinking skills solely on the basis of "it seems like it"
08.10.2025 19:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Is BPA really bad for you? Did getting rid of lead make us better people? Tonight we're talking about poisons, toxins, and how we study them! 7 PM eastern time at www.twitch.tv/philososcien...
03.10.2025 21:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

I'm not saying I know better, just that it seems like is equally a geopolitical forecast as a technical one and that experts in that field seem weirdly underrepresented.
20.09.2025 21:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally read the ai-2027.com scenario and my main impression is that this is real heavy on geopolitics for a team that knows nothing about geopolitics.
Like if your thesis is that the fate of the world will be decided by a US-China arms race, shouldn't you involve some people who...study that?
Kinda funny how ACIP--whose sole purpose is to provide advice on vaccine use--is just like "eh you decide"

28.08.2025 17:00 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In any case it seems like a pretty massive, invalidating flaw in a study claiming to measure overall amount of time spent reading for pleasure.

15.08.2025 22:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Recently a lot of media has been talking about how AI is bad for your brain. Is this true, and what can the science of learning and brain exercise tell us about it? Chatting tonight at 6:30 eastern time! www.twitch.tv/philososcien...

Kinda fun how the modern definition of ultra processed food is just food that has been cursed.
Like what is different about it? Idk but don't eat it, it has a curse on it.
Like learning how to build a nuclear reactor that is (1) safe and small enough to fly in a rocket and (2) doesn't require a massive amount of cooling water seems like a genuinely useful thing to do.
