Ever think about how everything in society is fundamentally designed to just short-circuit a neurodivergent person? No, really; think about neurotypicals tend to normally socialize and how the businesses' ladder of work ethic. Neurodivergent people...we look at that and don't think it makes sense, either because it seems illogical or too insensitively inhumane; so we question it. The neurotypicals get mad at us questioning 'how the world works', which then sends us further down the rabbit hole of questioning, where we reach either one of two points: we get overwhelmed due to the amount of overloading information and explode or we realize the truth of it and the depression kicks into overdrive during said clarity; both of which hijack our minds into responding the way we do, some of which is stimming. Stimming is a way we regulate our nervous system, manage sensory input and express emotions, via coping mechanisms; it's quite literally our way of mediating, because we're overstimulated with everything in the world; either because we don't understand, or we do...and we're terrified of it.
