World-position-driven rotation with full control over one or 2 axis.
The first has a fixed axis, the other generates the axis from two vectors. Both deform world position and normals, useful for effects that need precise control over rotation in WPO #gamedev #VFX #realtimeVFX #UnrealEngine

I've spent *years* researching 3D Platformer Cameras in hopes of making Slime 64's camera "not terrible."

In this thread, the White Cylinder is the Camera Target (slightly above the player!), and the Orange Cones represent the "vertical dead zone" where the camera won't follow player movement.

Caustics via Light Function Material 💡
Two scrolling textures with offset speeds, UVs driven by Time. Layered with additional offset textures for a parallax-like effect, then blended and masked to add breakup and depth.

Im sure many 3D artists know you can transfer normals from a sphere to get softer and smoother looking trees, but did you know the same process can be used for other visual tricks like stylized fur, clouds, or even blending low-poly objects together? Its a real versatile trick.

I've seen some people ask how the Noxus Portal in Arena is made, so here is how!

It is using a stencil mask (very similar to a Photoshop Layer Mask) to hide geometry that is placed in front and behind it to fake a parallax effect.

This video shows with and without the stencil enabled.
