Aliyah Rahman: "I continue to hear the word 'bodies' because that is how agents refer to us—'We're bringing in a body'…'We can't use that room, there's already a body in there.' You have no reason to believe you will make it out alive if you are already being called a body."
Aliyah Rahman was not the first disabled person harmed by ICE & she won’t be the last
Fascists see the disabled as “useless eaters”
In Portland 6 agents dragged a 4’6 blind man named Quinn Haberl by his feet.
If this is how they treat the disabled in public, it’s far worse in the camps.
Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated
Day 24 of Emmanuel Garcia being in federal custody.
He’s a 15 year old autistic boy who went missing 4 weeks ago. Houston PD found him, contacted ICE & his Mom is fighting to get him back
She’s not allowed to visit him.
They’re keeping a disabled kid from his family & the media is largely silent
The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.
BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador.
Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.
Rodney Taylor still needs our help!
He’s still locked in an ICE camp.
He’s still going without his new prosthetic legs.
He’s still facing deportation to Liberia.
He’s still having necessary disability accommodations ignored.
Please keep sharing his story. Public pressure works!

This is not a drill: Chicago
Klein is right. And the single most important statistic is that the Democratic Party is massively unpopular — even among its own supposed base. That is because Americans want to fight fascism, malice, indifference, and corruption, not reason and negotiate with it.
The White House's war on disabled Americans continues, going above and beyond Project 2025—now with attacks on a popular hiring program no one even lobbied against.
Watch @garrisonhayes.bsky.social explore the connections between America’s culture wars, rising political violence, and the horrifying assassination of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman—and reflect on the alarming speed with which the country moved on.

Disabled students will be disproportionately hurt by the Republican budget reconciliation bill, losing access to essential services and resources that support their education and help them become contributing members of their communities.
Time to get in gear again for disability rights... www.lflegal.com/2025/06/ener...
Update: Bill 1207 was funded, but my understanding is that it will take some months to start generating revenue
🧵 As you may have heard, RFK/HHS have changed the name, but not walked back their Autism registry/database, and have confirmed they will be integrating information from Medicare/aid, medical records, and wearables. Here is a template for requesting that medical providers don't provide that info:
Logan Rozos’s remarks span 80 seconds & comprise a mere 159 words.
But because those words condemn genocide & call for justice, NYU is denying him his diploma, seeking further punishment, & publicly condemning him.
This is backwards.

I don’t usually open up about disability on a personal level, but this article gets a little bit into it. Creating accessible environments for learning/research for all (diagnosed or not yet) can help people reach their goals and dreams.
This is not how I predicted celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day #GAAD
According to the Seattle Times, this bill may help. Mention it when you call. app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?... www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Braille access changed everything for our family and is an essential service. Call the governor's office and ask that the talking book and braille library stay funded. I broke down in tears when I called, but I know they need stories and they need to know people care governor.wa.gov/contacting-g...
I know everything seems urgent right now, but this is wholly unacceptable: www.sos.wa.gov/about-office... "The state’s only accessible library service for people with print disabilities, faces severe cuts." It's not too late to fight this (see next post).
I just called. I broke down in tears and explained why TBBL matters. The bill hasn't been signed yet -- it's not too late to have an impact.
Please call the Governor if you live in WA state and ask WTBBL be funded. governor.wa.gov/contacting-g...
Something not to lose track of is that the battles we need to fight are not just caused by changes in the federal government. They are ongoing, at all levels. I look forward to the day when access is a first principle, not an afterthought www.seattletimes.com/education-la...
ADAPT.org protestors enter the room at around :50 and are threatened with arrest and wheeled out at around 1:50. Video: rumble.com/v6tc0c3-no-c... News: www.rawstory.com/medicaid-cut...
My daughter’s speech therapist went out of business because Medicaid reimbursement rates were too low. We do not have Medicaid. I’m going to keep posting this until people understand that when Medicaid gets cut *everyone* loses services.
Good morning 🌞 – some inspo to start your day:
It’s people like Dr. Brittany Charlton, a Harvard professor and public health researcher, who remind us that science, equity, and truth are worth fighting for. 💪🏽🌍
