Members of the local community were invited to join and had access to leisure & exercise facilities. They underwent medical checks and patients were actively involved in any treatment.

High Road, Leyton in late 19th cent. Rosa Lewis nรฉe Ovenden (1867-1952), lived here when young. Entering domestic service aged 12, she became a highly esteemed society cook. A successful businesswoman, she bought The Cavendish, Jermyn Street, London in 1902, & ran the hotel until mid 1940s. #WHM2025
