gotta go with pen 2 - no matter how much I love my fountain pens I will always be happy writing with one of those Pilots
Unsolicited writing advice, no. 8643:
Writing a synopsis is one of the hardest things to do. That's because in long form, it's easy to overlook things that don't make sense, or are not properly explained or developed. A detailed synopsis lays these things bare, which is why it's worth persevering.
I’m already eyeing up some options 😅. There are some gorgeous green-black inks out there!
I’ve fully fallen down the fountain pen rabbit hole. Got this LAMY Vista about a week ago and having fun with it so far.
Said goodbye to the goodest girl today. Fifteen years of sniffing around and getting inexplicably excited about ice cubes. Go chase those rabbits, Ida bean.
Watched all of Adolescence in one sitting. Holy hell. Astounding work. I’ll be reflecting on this one for a WHILE.
But letting the whole sick coven come into the house, too.
Even if that person’s goal is simply “profit”, embracing the products of the machine they made is endorsing and furthering that goal. We aren’t getting A I — we’re getting A I under capitalism. Getting misty-eyed and mooning over its “art” is inviting not just the vampire over the threshold …
A I does not exist in a vacuum. It is already enmeshed in the culture in which it has been developed. If your feelings are stirred by its art, you are that much more vulnerable to becoming complicit in the agenda of whoever is at the root of the machine.
The thing about A I (whether we call it autonomous or artificial or alternative or whatever) is that it is owned. There is a person or group at the root of everything A I produces, a person with goals and values that are so deeply concealed that commentators forget they’re there. But they are.
Update - he is home!!!! 😊
[watching anora] nobody in this movie would last two days at a conclave
Tagging @weratedogs.com to maybe help reunite this sweet boy with his family?

Is there a word for how, amid all the awful news, it’s the good news that opens the spigot of tears?
Beautiful.
I realized I make faces while I’m writing, basically acting out a character in a scene. Realized this AT the coffee shop. Mortifying.
I saw goodie proctor fuck your outie at the ORTBO
I’m so glad you shared this - I got the Evelyn Waugh’s Oxford book for $13!? 🥳
Was nobody going to tell me that Jason Isaacs is in the new season of White Lotus!? 🤩
Susanna Clarke. Take me on an adventure on the King’s Roads or drop me in the arms of one of Piranesi’s statues!
Getting fomo over that college/career meme going around not because I didn’t go to college but because I absolutely 100% did NOT have a career goal when I started college.
People went to college with careers in mind?!
Me: Yay more school! 😄
"Sir, thys ys an Abyss."
This is very cool!
Bonus points for the phrase ‘a collaboration with time’ which absolutely did not have to go that hard.
me when any program's AI assistant asks me if I want help writing:
I joined a little five week social curling league and the first game last night made me feel like a kid playing outside on the pond again. When life gives you ice and darkness, make up silly games sliding rocks back and forth under the stars.
Graduate knowing less than when you started is too fucking real 😆😭
Fashimmelled: discombobulated or in a state of disarray, especially of one’s attire. Eg: the dry winter air increased the static cling between all the layers I wore and leaving me all fashimmelled when I tried to remove my outermost sweater.
One rejection in —> One submission out.
And even more importantly, more new words on the page.
