@chrismurphyct.bsky.social: They're out there saying 'we just passed a bill to eliminate taxes on tips & taxes on SS benefits.' NONE of that's in the bill. But they deny that they're cutting Medicaid. So they want credit for popular stuff that isn't in the bill but ignore the deeply unpopular stuff.

Donald Trump openly admits he’s aiding Russia in its genocidal invasion of Ukraine. He's depriving them of air defenses so they'll "settle" (surrender). He cynically declares, "I won't provide air defense because I want to stop death" as Russia increases its attacks nationwide targeting civilians.

The graphic shows arrows going from 11 general agencies and institutions to Musk companies which include SpaceX, Tesla. neuralink, x, and Musk himself.

The text at the top reads:
Trump firings hit agencies with oversight of Musk's companies
Staffing changes, including the firing of several top officials, have affected agencies with federal investigations into or regulatory battles with Elon Musk's companies.

The graphic is credit to Malika Khurana for the New York Times

A historic graphic of corruption.

The 11 federal agencies so far targeted for firings or dismantling by Elon Musk have more than 30 ongoing investigations into his companies.

State Dept. Plans $400 Million Purchase of Armored Tesla Cybertrucks The department plans to buy armored Tesla vehicles. Elon Musk, who is leading efforts to cut government spending, has won more than $13 billion in government contracts in the past five years.

The state department’s procurement forecast for 2025, which details purchases the agency expects to make, includes $400 million for armored Tesla vehicles.

Excuse me, but isn’t this a huge conflict of interest, not to mention an unnecessary expenditure?!

Elon Musk spent $40 million in Super Bowl ads to attack USAID.

Tell Congress that for pennies on the dollar, foreign aid is a deal we can’t afford to lose.

Call your members of Congress and demand action.

Here’s the number to call:
(202)224-3121

Please pass it on.

Save Foreign Aid.

... in case they get swept up by ICE, their child, a US citizen by birth, would be safe. I felt so sad for them, they must be really frightened. I wished there was a way to help, but took heart from their determination. Bless them with good luck, they obviously are getting good advice.

I was at a local store getting passport photos for an upcoming trip. Ahead of me in line was a young couple with a child. They were getting passport photos for the child, not themselves. They spoke limited English, and were obviously immigrants. They were setting up Plan B...

57% of all forest land in California is under federal jurisdiction, including the #HughesFire burning in the Angeles National Forest.

We're offering mutual aid and support to the federal government to help contain the blaze and we are deeply grateful for the crews keeping our communities safe.

“[Women] are less likely to have criminal records, accounting for just 30% of juvenile arrests, according to data from the Justice Department. They're also outpacing men in higher education, with nearly half of women aged 25 to 34 holding bachelor's degrees compared to 37% of men.”

Crockett: We added four million people, they were people of color, Texas got two new seats… somehow, the way that they do their Republican math in the state of Texas, that amounted to new white Republican seats. They love to use our bodies to apportion us in an inaccurate way

Force of Nature | Official Book Trailer Get this book on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Force-Nature-Three-Women-Tackle/dp/1685132812 "Lace up your hiking boots! Let Griffin guide you over granite mountains, through thunderstorms, and wildflower-studded meadows." –Barbara Olson Lawrence, author of the forthcoming Drawing Water Three friends, women in their fifties, set out to hike "the most beautiful long-distance trail in the world," the John Muir Trail. From the outset, their adventure is complicated by self-inflicted accidents and ferocious weather, then enriched when they "adopt" a young hiker abandoned by her partner along the trail. The women experience the terror of lightning at eleven-thousand feet, the thrill of walking through a towering waterfall, and the joy of dancing among midnight moonshadows. For a month, they live immersed in vast natural beauty, tackle the trail's physical demands, and find camaraderie among an ensemble cast of eccentric trail characters. Together, they are pulled forward toward the trail's end atop the highest peak in the High Sierra, Mt. Whitney, and the culmination of their transformative journey. Force of Nature is equal parts gripping adventure tale, personal memoir, and vivid nature writing. #johnmuir #booktrailer #johnmuirtrail

Icing on the cake!! Glorious to narrate the audiobook of this gorgeous story, but I’m all swoony over being the voiceover for the book trailer! @joangriffin.bsky.social
