Wonderful news from the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme: Puntung has been released into the Jantho forest! 🧡
Rescued in February 2025, Puntung spent months in rehabilitation at SOCP Sibolangit where he received the care he needed to recover. Now he is wild & free!

Robert was rescued in 2016 after being kept illegally as a pet. He still lacks vital survival skills and can’t be released into the wild. Now he lives in a large forested enclosure that was built for him at @theorangutanproject.org’s Sumatran Rescue Alliance centre. 🧡
