i don’t know exactly how to articulate it but like, we’re absolutely at war yet it doesn’t feel like it because the people leading it are so fucking stupid so the typical climate of seriousness is missing? if that makes sense?
For me the fact that a senseless, unjustified, unjustifiable war was casually entered into with no apparent thought for consequences (or maybe even belief in consequences), and that it just happened all of a sudden without a chance for the debates and protests of previous wars: yeah, same.

one of the earliest lessons in politics I learned as a kid from my parents was to always vote for a tax increase, because you're trading a dollar amount so small you probably won't notice in order to fund something important that benefits everybody.
