This is the front board for the blues harp preamp. It's an unconventional 6-layer board, is in final inspections, and should arrive sometime next week. After that, it's assembly, and final tests with Tall Paul.

Well, I'm finally starting the last stages of design and development of the blues harp preamp "pedal" for my buddy Paul. Doing PCB layout for the front board, and some fit-and-finish changes to the overall design. Will be selecting an enclosure soon, and then...it should be done.

Backstory: I've never seen the Northern Lights. Fun fact: I still haven't. Nothing visible was going on overhead, but to a full spectrum camera, there was a lot happening not visible to the naked eye.

I'm impressed with the amount of gradient you're able to achieve with this setup! I'm assuming, also, a 720nm pass filter? I'm surprised at the lack of veining in the subject, but maybe that's from the very low light level.

I have the same modded camera, and a small handful of clip-in filters. They're expensive, but a heck of a lot cheaper than a 97mm 720nm filter, lol! I'm looking forward to seeing the results, when you get to it!

I'd be really interested in seeing that lens on a full spectrum camera. I'm betting there's a massive softening of the infrared--far more with the X-Ray lens than is seen with standard visible light lenses.

Infrared photo at 720nm of a trumpet vine with a deerfly on one of the flowers. The image is white, because most visible light is filtered out. The result has a softness that looks the way a marshmallow feels.

With this lens, you can see a minor IR hotspot in the center of the image. Not the best, not terrible, either.
