New local powers to keep pavements clear for those who rely on them most
Local councils will be given the power to crack down on problem pavement parking.
It's great news that, following a public consultation and years of campaigning from sight loss charities, the Department for Transport has confirmed that local councils will be given new and improved legal powers to stop pavement parking!

We had a wonderfully festive lunch with the members and volunteers of Bugle Blues Club! The club took a day off from bowling to enjoy a lovely outing filled with good cheer, good food, and lots of laughter!

Life-changing eye implant helps blind patients read again
The results are astounding and a major advance, say surgeons involved in international research using the pioneering technology.
How amazing is this? A pioneering procedure has seen five patients with an advanced form of dry age-related macular degeneration being fitted with microchips which, when combined with glasses featuring a built in video camera, has restored some of their vision!

The inaugural meeting of our Newquay Audio Book Club was a big success!

Vitamins A, C and E & lutein are antioxidants which help protect our eyes from harmful oxidants which can speed up cell degeneration and may contribute to the development of aged-related macular degeneration. Our bodies don't naturally produce lutein so it's really important to get it in our diets!

NHS England has just published the updated Accessible Information Standard, which makes clear how NHS and social care services in England must provide information to blind and partially sighted people in a way they can read.

The Rotary Club of Redruth have donated a brilliant ยฃ1,250 to iSightCornwall following a 'quacking' good fundraiser at Cornwall Gold!
The Rotarians hosted The Great Golden Duck Race which saw 1,373 rubber ducks entering the Tolgus Stream, competing for prizes and raising money for charity.
