Probably unnecessary but do people remember how crazy it is for a cabinet secretary to say stuff like this?

A line graph of the fraction of multiyear funding. The line for FY2025 increased in the last third of the year and the level in FY2026 is already high.

Working on a NIH multiyear funding tracker...

This looks at the amount of multiyear funding (grants having a budget period 366 days or longer) for new and competitive renewal awards divided by the total amount of new and competitive renewal award funding over the same period.

oh man don't go there, either - it's the sodium in the salt that you want to avoid and MSG is like sodium bomb time

Not hankering for a fight - just questioning the casual 'everyone-knows-it's- true' definition of vegan eating as a 'restricted' diet when millions of people around the world never did eat meat or dairy or both and are pretty darn healthy.

But you aren't cutting out an entire category of food, unless you accept the commercial meat or dairy industry's definition of a category....Again, casually made assumptions and definitions. If someone "drops" processed foods, let's say, would you treat it the same way?

PS also you do not have to track protein if you eat a normal vegan diet. I do not know why people keep casually repeating this like it is an accepted fact because it is not. Eating vegan is not even "restricted."

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

Thinking about the many good people who work at the Office of Women's Health at NIH, who are now facing this Orwellian nightmare.

I see that Tammy, who’s speaking on Thursday, wrote the forward to a book entitled “The Chelation Revolution: Breakthrough Detox Therapy,” which, according to the cover, is good for pretty much everything that ails ya.

Looks like HHS will be have another chronic #Lyme crankfest, including long-time conspiracy theorists Kristen Honey and Amy Proal, and ILADS leader Eboni Cornish (née Smith).

Eboni Cornish has a long record of dishonesty but sadly was granted a medical license:

2/ So I thought this clip was the perfect excuse to look at some of the long term effects of the virus if left untreated.

Measles is one of the most contagious viruses on the planet. If you’re unvaccinated and exposed, there’s about a 90% chance you’ll get it.
