While the meteor shower *peaks* early Tuesday morning, you may be able to see a few meteors each night through November 7th.

ORIONIDS PEAK TONIGHT: The Orionid meteor shower peaks early Tuesday AM! You can catch up to 20 meteors per hour. Best viewing time is before dawn Tuesday AM (as long as the clouds don’t get in the way ☁️). You will also want to be away from light pollution. #lawx #louisiana #meteorshower #oronids

Tuesday morning is going to be WARMER than Monday morning, but our next cold front moves through during the day on Tuesday! This will bring morning lows back into the mid and upper 40s for a few mornings in central & northern Louisiana! Temps will be morning closer to the LA coast. #lawx #louisiana

For those that pick up a little rain tomorrow, this will be a good rain! Temperatures will be a lot warmer Tuesday morning (60s), but will cool down behind the front!

- Rain will stay scattered, meaning that not everyone will see rain
- Those that do see rain will pick up minimal amounts
- Severe weather is not expected

For now, here’s what to expect 👇
- Isolated to scattered rain during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday
- Severe weather should remain pretty isolated in coverage. Damaging winds will be the main threat with the *strongest* of the storms.

Apologies for the quietness on my page today! It’s been a busy one.

My thoughts today are similar when it comes to Saturday’s severe weather potential. We got our first batch of high-resolution data in today, and rainfall coverage was pretty underwhelming for north/central Louisiana.

For now, it’s an area that I’ll be keeping tabs on later this month. There is no reason to be super concerned at this time. I’ll make sure to give you the First Alert if it’s something to put on your radar!

We also have to consider that this late in the season, there are many other factors that could help keep this far away from us. A larger-scale storm system could easily steer a system away.

First, **IF** we saw anything tropical in nature try to develop, it would get close to the highlighted area toward the end of the 22-28 timeframe, putting it beyond 10 days out. A LOT can change between now and then.

I’ve already seen a few scary model images going around showing large hurricanes close to home in the Gulf. These should be taken with a grain of salt!

- In LA, the threat is *highest* in northern LA

With no rain in sight over the next 10 days, i expect drought conditions to continue deteriorating in the coming weeks.

DROUGHT CONDITIONS WORSEN: New drought monitor was released today, showing signs of deteriorating across portions of LA. Mod. drought conditions (lvl 1 out of 4) expanded slightly, while Dry conditions (pre-drought) expanded greatly across portions of central LA. #lawx #louisiana #drought

When can we expect peak fall colors in Louisiana? Typically, fall colors don’t begin to appear until later in the season for us. With that said, we usually see our peak foliage around November 15th! #fall #lawx #louisiana #fblifestyle

This is the first of three consecutive super moons that we will see through the end of 2025. This is also the first supermoon that we’ve seen since November of 2024.

Its peak illumination will be around 10:47 PM Monday evening. It will still be very bright all of Sunday and Monday night!

This full moon is a super moon due to its proximity to earth. It will appear larger in the sky!

This is because whichever full moon is closest to the fall equinox (9/22) takes the name “Harvest” moon. This year, it was the early October full moon! There is usually a name swap once every 3 years.

FULL SUPERMOON: Our next full moon rises on Monday night (10/6/25)! October’s full moon is usually called the “Corn” moon, but this year has swapped names with September’s (usual) full moon, the “Harvest” moon. #lawx #fullmoon #harvestmoon

FALLING BACK: We’re now 30 days away from the end of DST, which means that we will set our clocks back 1 hour (2 AM 11/2/25). SUMMARY: Organized tropical development is unlikely. Rain is still expected out of this, mainly along coastal areas.
