A launch is when you run through all the open tickets and mark them P3, WONTFIX or NOTABUG, merge all the code and ship before the competition. A landing is the 3rd report confirming a major data breach arising from one of those P3 bugs.

Relatedly, if anyone has PDF scans of these 2 issues of White Dwarf that they could send my way (or knows where to find them), I would be grateful:

* Issue 235 (July 1999)
* Issue 242 (Feb 2000)

Me: I’m going to spend my afternoon building models.

Also me: But what if, instead, I setup a new document management system and started archiving old magazine issues into a searchable database?

Checkmate, relaxation.

It is whispered that the advanced systems of the Redemptor are a curse as well as a blessing. The Martian tech-savants that first built these walking engines of destruction spared scant thought to the health of the incumbent, seeing him as little more than another part to be interred or replaced as necessary. Many Redemptors that have fought for a sustained period have already had their sarcophagi replaced, their original pilots burned out by the intensity of the machine’s destructive prowess.

I can't find anything in my own archives about it being based on/related to a Knight (at least, not in the issues around the time of the model's release in 2017), but I did find this snippet in the 8th edition codex which mentioned the pilots getting "burned out" by the machinery

Straczynski expressed the highest regard for Trias and ABC, but he said that he believes
"network paranoia" has led them to use Q5.

Straczynski continued. "I think they reinforce stereotypes--sexist and racist. I think they are not helping television, they are diminishing it."

In addition to Janine's new look, described in notes on one DIC character drawing as
"generally less harsh & "slutty," she will have a warmer, more nurturing relationship with Slimer, a childlike comic character who sometimes dissolves into slime.

The show also will contain less satire and less
subtle, sophisticated verbal humor. "I've written a few shows for this season, and they weren't as much fun as last season," lamented "Real Ghostbusters" writer Michael
Reaves.
As one of numerous examples of this change, the Q5 report notes that some jokes that writers had included about college days and
"no intelligent life in New Jersey" would go over the heads of young children. A phrase such as "create the proper ambiance," the
report suggests, could be phrased more simply: "Make this room look like a little boy's.

A remarkable 1987 article about “Q5”, a consultancy that, i’ve now learned, seems singularly responsible for the mass bland-izing of cartoons when i was a kid. I remember the sudden and mysterious Jeanine swap-out in The Real Ghostbusters! this explains so much.

For anyone still rocking an iPhone with a lightning port (I have an iPhone 14), mine has had a “wobbly” port where charging cables won’t go in, or where contact was unreliable, for a long time. I thought I’d have to get a new phone or pay for an expensive repair. It turns out… it’s lint in the port.

I mean it when I say quick. Excluding drying time, the whole lot took me about an hour.

Spray dark brown
Spray random blotches of brighter colours - e.g. red, blue, green, purple
Spray neutral mid-grey from mostly above
Catch the edges with a light warm grey
Flock or texture paint to taste

I painted up these cliffs by Dark Fantastic Mills, to give myself more options for photographing miniatures on. Really fun to paint, and also really quick. Bright green flock for nostalgia’s sake. (https://chrismcleod.photos/images/2025/08/02/d6fd509b-f057-4150-b2f9-c7ca5443cca0/)

Just moved some APIs I run out of Azure and onto my home server. The networking was a PITA, but now DNS has settled, everything is running fast and stable 🤓

I had this a few months ago, when trying to login to a game service using my Microsoft account - just got stuck in a continual password loop for about an hour. The only way I managed to fix it was to enable password-less sign-in for the account from another device where I was already logged in :-/

One of my hobby goals, now I've bowed out of playing the games, is to recreate shots with this vibe, but using modern miniatures. I made myself a flocked board a couple of years ago, and I'm slowly adding scenery to fill it out. I've subscribed to your blog - looking forward to what comes next!

I am tempted to paint up the new Wolves in this way, as I think the classic 2nd Edition colour scheme is one that looks and works great, even today. But I'm not quite mentally prepared to work on that yet, so looking for something smaller to do first

#WarhammerCommunity - What modern GW kit do you think would look great with a 90's-vibrant paint job and Goblin Green base? I'm looking for some inspiration for a quick-ish project 😅

Could you help us out? It's been one of the quietest months in a decade, and partly I believe it's because people don't know we exist! Hi! I'm Annie! I run Bad Squiddo Games! We hand sculpt & hand cast 28mm scale models of women, critters, scenics & occasionally a man!

Every so often YouTube “forgets” I’ve told it to stop recommending several saddo rage-bait Warhammer channels, and one will pop up in my recommendations from time to time.

I gives me a spark of joy to be able to cast them into the void all over again (at least until the next time)

I cut the shared hedge at the weekend, including the top of it, as best I could reach. Next door have got someone round who is re-doing it.

I didn’t think I did *that * bad a job… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A collection of Adeptus Custodes miniature figures, by Games Workshop, is arranged on simulated rocky terrain. The figures, resembling heavily armoured warriors, display gold and red colour schemes, adorned with ornate designs and blue gemstones. Some wield weapons like swords and spears, while others hold banners. The background features a painted desert landscape in warm tones.
