Did the UK's renewed membership of Creative Europe come up at all? It does not sound like the UK government is interested despite the case having been made repeatedly by sector leaders - both in the UK and rest of Europe - and recently by the HoC CMS Cttee's report. Recommendation #35

I have sent the PM on behalf of 33 distinguished signatories (+me) this letter calling on the Gov’t to sustain funding for the British Council. An effective national security strategy in a changed world needs not just more defence spending but investment in our soft power assets. 1/2

Keep up the positive thinking, sunshines. It’s partly this miserabilist thinking that is causing this awful stasis. It’s a negotiation, in the interest of two parties, not a favour.
