Could be that their work environment at Meta didn’t provide enough opportunities for vibe coding, so they may have not built the muscle yet.

Large systems, distributed nature, fragmentation… even small features are likely to require changes in multiple services. Not ideal fit for prompting.

‪This applies to any feedback loop. ‬

‪Slow compilation, slow tests, slow code review, slow deployments, poor tooling, etc. ‬

‪All of that generates extra friction and kills productivity not only for individuals but also for whole teams.

We’re hiring for Senior Full Stack position, fully remote…

It’s already difficult to filter out candidates that are not good enough early because of AI-enhanced CVs and AI-solved coding challenges.

Then on top of that, that number of fake/scam applications is atrocious.

Enjoy while you can. My 13yo baby girl prefers to sleep as long as possible, but once she gets up she calls „Daddy, can I get some money”.

It’s snowing for the first time this season and winter service vehicles have hit the roads. Nothing special unless you live in Doncaster:

YouTube video by Bialy Dragon Sector We've not been trained for this: life after the Newag DRM disclosure EN

Here's the follow-up presentation from few days ago when they talk about the current situation, the absurdity of it.

Looks like a good follow-up to Chip War.

Bookmarked.

I think they did a great job and deserve the support, so I made a donation.

CCC | They have not been trained for this

The manufacturer responded with lawsuits on base of both civil and criminal law.

The German Chaos Computer Club, the organizer of the conference where they presented their findings is asking for donations to help them cover the costs which so far reached around €30k.

Breaking "DRM" in Polish trains We've all been there: the trains you're servicing for a customer suddenly brick themselves and the manufacturer claims that's because you...

A year ago three Polish hackers uncovered how the rail vehicle manufacturer manipulated its trains in such a way that they could only be repaired in company's own workshops.

Here's the video of the presentation media.ccc.de/v/37c3-12142...

That sounds really interesting, thank you for the recommendation.

Adding it to my list for 2025.

It was an IT Underground conference, so there people who knew about this stuff more than I did.

I was just a junior dev who only got there because his boss who was meant to give this talk couldn’t go.

The last time I’ve used an open public WiFi was in 2008. Seriously.

It was during some IT conference where I was speaking about web security.

I got hacked while giving a talk 🙃

The attacker sent me a funny email with some files from my own machine.

Humbling experience and a lesson for life.

I stubled on a brief note about ASML in "Chip War" book by Chris Miller (highly recommend BTW), never heard about them before.

It was quite surprising to see a Dutch company having such a strong position in market previously dominated mostly by US and Japanese companies.

Can you add me as well please?

It’s very true.

Many companies are forcing AI tools nobody asked for into their already good products, confusing the UX at best, diluting own value proposition at worst.

There are true gems, but it’s probably only 20% of the book.

The rest is completely outdated though.

Here’s a confusing UI of the onboarding step in Substack app where you select feeds to subscribe to.

Which icon means „selected”? Highlighted plus sign or dimmed check mark?

My first impression… inconclusive.

They served it with milk and I’m definitely not a fan of milk in coffee. My bad, I should have asked.

I’ll have to prepare it myself then

I would even go further and explicitly ask how the person is using AI tools (not only code generation) on their job.

If they don't at all, they have already fallen behind.

Allowing to use LLMs during live coding interview is a no-brainer for me.

It gives a great insight into person's creativity and problem solving skills irrespective of seniority level.
