Is there a consensus replacement phrasing for googling something now that we use chat whatever LLMs?

I'm leaning towards "just FROL it" as in future robot overlords.

"I'm frolling for when the machines will take over humanity."

Why 536 was โ€˜the worst year to be alive' Glacier cores reveal Icelandic volcano that plunged Europe into darkness

I did not know that the Dark Ages were literally dark:

"A mysterious fog plunged Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia into darkness, day and nightโ€”for 18 months."

Collections: Why Archers Didnโ€™t Volley Fire This week weโ€™re looking at a specific visual motif common in TV and film: the arrow volley. You know the scene: the general readies his archers, he orders them to โ€˜draw!โ€™ and thenโ€ฆ

This kind of internet rabbit hole is my jam:

So even a four day weekend only gives you maybe a day of rest without intrusive work-thoughts.

The Myth of the three day weekend:

All the research indicated it takes about 72 hours for your brain to โ€œdetoxโ€ from work.

A three day weekend means you spend the whole 3 days with work thoughts still in your brain.

I get affect vs effect correct every time and I even plug in the USB-A cables the right way up most of the time, but ask me to spell gaurantee and I get that red underline taunting me like a toddler who found their first ever noisemaker.

You also need some stage-awareness here. Long sales cycles are killers for bootstrapped and even seed funded startups. You need cash flow or runway to support them. And you need high enough pricing and strong enough market fit so that you can justify those long cycles. Both are rare early.

I feel like there should be a middle point that's is catchier than "I believe in kindness, helpfulness and paying it forward but not at the expense of my mental, physical or spiritual well being, and that line is blurry and it's hard for me and others to tell when I cross it"

I just discovered wipr2, a safari-only ad blocker and it is amazing. insta-buy, insta-install on every apple device I own.

If you use safari even a little, I really can't recommend this enough.

calculator-app - Chad Nauseam Home "A calculator app? Anyone could make that." (this was originally a https://x.com/ChadNauseam/status/1890889465322786878) Not true. A calculator should show you the result of the mathematical expressiโ€ฆ

Apparently the way computers think about numbers and the way humans think about numbers are dramatically different.

This was interesting to me and touches on the Venn diagram of normal human math, deep academia math and computer science:

I spent some time this morning writing up a technical retro. blameless style of course. some thoughts:

- this is only my second in the past year. Phoenix/liveview is awesome.
- it was not DNS
- I prob should not be writing defect retros on a Saturday morning.

Things are super busy. more so than ever.

And I posit that our tech stack based on #ElixirLang is a massive competitive advantage.

I think of the economics of SaaS as socializing the development (which you touch on with maintenance/updates) cost. There are exceptions such as anything high bandwidth (video and what not), but a calendar scheduler or uptime monitor isn't going to move the needle on incremental hosting costs.

I once worked for a startup that was obsessive about running experiments so they could be โ€œdata drivenโ€. What ended up happening was they would abandon everything cause one quick market or product test would fail. Some ideas need to simmer before they pop.
