4/ medical services will end. But - telehealth for behavioral health services are allowed permanently under current law. The changes that would occur for BH if the allowances are not extended are as follows: requirements for one in-person visit within the first six months of treatment, and one visit

3/ It seems a good chance that will happen again - hopefully for a longer extension. National NASW is advocating on this, and members can contact their federal Senators and Representative to share support for extending these allowances.

2/ Current allowances for Medicare telehealth are set to expire on March 31st unless there is Congressional action. Many will remember that we were in a similar situation in December. There was in fact last-minute action taken at that time to further extend allowances for short-term.

One major insurance company paid the same rate between 2006 and 2023. 30% below Medicare. We can only request rate increases as individuals, no collective bargaining. Hint: they recently got a new CEO

As a Medicare and MA provider since 2006, I will go with traditional and a supplement. MA plans are very good if you’re healthy, and sometimes limit benefits when you’re sick. Plus the reimbursement rates to providers is generally lower than traditional.
