On the CPC's 6-10 Day Outlook (for March 19-23), 33.4% of the Lower 48 has a >90% chance of being in the warmest temperature tercile. The 33.4% number is the 5th largest on record for this product and the highest percentage in 9 years (since Feb 13, 2017 issuance).
Clip of ECMWF AI model temp forecast for comparison to the one I posted above.
Also, I plan to hold space and hope for the classic "swing" into snow and cold that teased coming after this. Let it be known.
There's a spread of forecasted highs at end of next week. I noticed ECMWF AI model push the higher near 90 temps than GFS. Where will bullseye land? If your apps are sharing aggressive highs.. AI is still AI, even it could happen.. so just please reference your local meteorologist.
@akumler.bsky.social Not ruling anything out - thanks for thinking of us, our situation, and the tag, Marc!
☹️
Nooooo this cannot be :(
Same.
Okay but also the word play on the title of this movie makes me even more optimistic that it'll artistic and well done.
Been hard to keep up my passion for weather this winter given our hot and dry trend.. haven't paid attention to models/forecasts. A little delight to get a CO classic "run run run" moment of rain and wind at daycare drop-off today. Thankful to be surprised again. More water (snow), please.
Pour one out for my talented, devoted, and classy husband as well as all other researchers lost here and around the country in this dark time: www.linkedin.com/posts/andrew...
If you know me, you know I travel with a moka pot because I am a picky espresso drinker. So, imagine my delight when these makes an appearance! Now how do I get this job…
This has been our last week and counting new bedtime game. Parents losing; taking upwards of two hours to get down and now wakes up again. Tips and cheat codes appreciated lol. Little dude might be in the Royal “teeth-4 month discovery of self-roll over” Flush combo and we assume unbeatable lol.
Thanks for the coordination and leadership, Aaron! This is a reflection of your hard work and coordination. AMS is lucky to have you!!
This whole thread and subthread is science explained well. It’s not purely plain language, but it’s very well communicated and I, personally, have learned a lot. Thank you!!
“Replenish water” —> lol okay. Let me know when you figure that science out.
Adding to the count the way that current “leadership” is failing the people, and on purpose, by choice 😔
Seconded. We LOVE this movie. I’d see the love show if it ever came out.
Happy new year surprise rain? Okay 👍
I also noticed this! Most trees and bushes I’ve seen have tiny buds testing the waters..
It’s officially Denver’s hottest Christmas on record: 70° for a high breaks the old daily record of 69° (2005).

Heads up Colorado: there’s a visibility event planned on Saturday in front of the NOAA building in Boulder to show your support for NCAR
NCAR and UCAR have released a statement. NSF has not provided any guidance to UCAR or NCAR leadership about this whole situation. news.ucar.edu/133054/ucar-...
If you’re wondering wtf is going on with the wind, this is a great description.
Can’t stop staring 😳
If “hey siri what’s the high temperature today” is “the high temperature in Lafayette is going to be 72” one more time, I’m gunna lose it… mix of emotions because the days are lovely, but I’m kind of hot and bothered.
Irwin’s first light show as seen by our amazing satellites.
Something special out there. Caught naked eye and phone with the whole family! Lafayette, CO.
Places that have now seen snowflakes before Denver:
❄️Nashville, TN
❄️Knoxville, TN
❄️Louisville, KY
❄️Indianapolis, IN
❄️Cincinnati, OH
All those have an average first snow more than a month later than Denver.
Weird times.
