Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

But I've got three days off after the weekend, & I'm looking forward to relaxing & making the most of them.

The significance of any art comes in layers.

The core, most intimate layer is your relationship to your art as its maker. It already has meaning while you are making it, in the joy or insight it gives you in the process.

Other layers grow from there, but it already matters at that first layer.
