04.03.2026 08:58 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0ziploc bag of venison in a sink filled with water described by Stone Cold Steve Austin as "hot"
Pro tip for meal prep. If Iām on the road, most often I will use gallon zip loc bags for my meals. This is 7oz of ground venison and a can of Lima beans. See the third slide for macros. The room has a refrigerator, but no microwave. So what I do is fill a sink up with hot water and let my bag of food sit for a few minutes and then flip it over on the other side to heat it up. On this trip I forgot my spoon. Rather than call down to room service and ask for silverware I just use a wine glass as a scoop to get the food out of the bag and drink/eat it. Works as well with a plastic cup. But man, that wine glass was pure luxury.. I partied pretty hard at the end of the year. Time to reel it in and get back on track with my nutrition.
Stone Cold Steve Austin reheats his venison and lima beans in a ziploc bag with hot hotel sink water like a fucking MAN who understands that beans have both PROTEIN and FIBER and will not make your SHIT turn into a BRICK

04.03.2026 08:05 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0This portion of the PC World article was the red flag: "Windows 12 will not treat AI as an add-on feature, but will anchor it as a fundamental part of the system. Copilot is evolving from an optional assistant to a central control instance. OS-wide integration will replace selective AI functions."
04.03.2026 07:57 ā š 4 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0you have a problem with me calling for bureaucracy to gum up the works for decisions that kill a lot of people? brother I am a communist I am the final boss of bureaucracy
04.03.2026 07:49 ā š 7 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0The people begging for procedure but not committing to being antiwar should all be in prison, don't get me wrong. Still, there are people who would be alive right now, hundreds of them potentially, if a goofy ass struggle session had to happen first to figure out what the point of this war even is
04.03.2026 07:48 ā š 10 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0harm reduction talk is necessary in certain contexts, even if it is weaponized almost every time it is brought up. In this case, what does a version of this war that is authorized by congress look like? It's still a murderous one, but does it look like a girls school being bombed day one?
04.03.2026 07:46 ā š 12 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0you gotta question whether that app will even run on Windows 12 but... we'll see, I guess. I'm past the feeling that Windows is reliable on account of legacy app support
04.03.2026 07:41 ā š 2 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0I don't think he was being an epic altruist, he just knew that his business model of running his own paid package manager on other operating systems was existentially threatened
04.03.2026 07:40 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0It was Windows 8 launching the UWP concept, a category of apps that work more like the iOS App Store with DRM and all that. He got spooked as fuck and honestly while it seemed silly at the time I don't think he was wrong
04.03.2026 07:38 ā š 4 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0I have been able to launch Windows preconfig'd GOG DOSbox games through Linux and play through them, so it's certainly capable of it. I haven't played any PC-98 games this way or whatever, though
04.03.2026 07:36 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0yeah I haven't gone that deep, I've played like MSX games and stuff but my own usage hasn't run into totally unsupported emulators. And I'm not sure how those would operate through proton if you launched them that way from the Windows versions. It's a bit of an edge case situation for most, though
04.03.2026 07:33 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0Most recently I did a run of Demon's Souls patched to run 60fps. Had to do some of that config manually on the desktop side, but that would of course be the case for any modding of an individual game on an emulator. But after that, I was just launching it from the Steam big picture UI every time
04.03.2026 07:31 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0I can't speak to PS4 emulation personally but I have seen people running Bloodborne on their Steam Decks lately so that must be going well lol
04.03.2026 07:29 ā š 2 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0Emudeck is a project that puts them all in one big package you can config, and then have them launch as individual games from the console-style UI side. I have consoles from 8 bit through PS3 set up through mine
04.03.2026 07:28 ā š 3 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0emulator support is everything pretty much? I can't even think of one that isn't supported. They're nearly all native, most of them are made by the sorts of sickos who were doing native versions well before all this.
04.03.2026 07:27 ā š 7 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0It's pretty common for people to use unused old hardware or newer underpowered mini PCs to make an indie game "console" with Bazzite that works basically like a retail console frontend usable with a controller alone
04.03.2026 07:18 ā š 2 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0If you're going to play old or 2D indie games and you want a gaming-forward OS, sure, why not? But otherwise try something like Mint or PopOS. All of these are pretty easy to install and get going with.
04.03.2026 07:16 ā š 3 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0If you're unaware, Steam uses Proton automatically in this context, which translates games over from Windows to Linux. You don't have to do anything for most Steam games. They just work when you launch them. Unless they need kernel-level anticheat.
04.03.2026 07:13 ā š 3 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0*hardware configs, rather. Official SteamOS is for the Steam Deck and a few other third party handheld PCs, anything else you have to handle yourself. Bazzite handles the other stuff for you, gets your drivers and all that in order. You can run it like a Steam Deck at launch, or boot to desktop
04.03.2026 07:10 ā š 3 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0SteamOS itself only officially supports a handful of software configs, which is why projects like Bazzite exist. They're putting in the work to open it up to working for everything else.
04.03.2026 07:08 ā š 3 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0It's built around Steam, it's a SteamOS clone. You can run other platforms from the desktop side or make shortcuts to their games to run through Proton, the translation layer that makes Windows games work under Linux. Steam handles that automatically.
