MPs have personal beliefs, but also solemn duties: that’s why they must reject the assisted dying bill this week | Gordon Brown Our obligations to each other are ill served if laws focus unduly on those who want assisted dying. The priority should be the best palliative care, says former prime minister Gordon Brown

Sharing this on the eve of tomorrow's vote.

I am a palliative care doctor who is not opposed to AD. But enshrining in law a state-funded right to die, while not enshrine a similar right to the palliative care that might make life worth living, is so very wrong.

So important to see RCP make this statement about the preventable deaths and diseases poor air quality causes. We know it worsens infections , allergy, asthma and COPD severity too πŸ§ͺ

RFK Jr. has just removed every member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

These members review vaccine data and make approval recommendations. This is completely horrifying and will likely delay vaccine approvals.

RFK Jr. must be removed from office IMMEDIATELY.

A drawing done by a child of a book entitled 'The Mistree (spelt miss-tree) of deth (spelt d-e-t-h'

I found this drawing I did when I was little, "The Mistree (πŸ₯Ή) of Deth". I'm lucky to have grown up in a family where death was something approached with curiosity. It rooted me in a deeper appreciation for being here now.
No surprise that this thread has followed me into the work I do today 😊

On my recent trip to Dublin I visited a dear friend and fellow doula's resting place. I definitely think that sometimes what helps the most in grief is having somewhere to go. Having a physical spot makes the love and loss feel held and anchored in the world. Grateful for this sunny mindful spot 🌳
