I fed the Christmas Cake this morning. It seems very moist, unlike last year's, so maybe I need to stop feeding it brandy. I don't want it soggy. But I have to admit that it smells good. Looking forward to cutting it over Christmas.

I bought the marzipan and fondant icing before it all disappears.

This time is year really gets me, with declining daylight and the weather being crap. It was OK today and managed to get little dog out for a walk in a local park, so that's something. Unfortunately next week we will be dodging the raindrops if the weather forecast is true.

Christmas cake is baked and cooling. The tasters (👇) are cool enough to be eaten. They are very sweet and a great texture.

Or maybe he's protecting us from some terrifying ordeal.

He often barks at other dogs when they approach, and we are beginning to think he's trying to protect us.

The only problem is he's lost several teath, is 16 yo and would probably come of worse in any conflict. But, he tries.

Our foster dog asked to go into the garden tonight, as he does several times a day. But he immediately started barking at a plant pot, and then ran around the garden barking. Came in obviously unsettled.

We think an animal had visited our garden and marked it.

Seems he's very territorial.

These flapjacks are also #Glutenfree if you make them with gluten free oats. For the record, oats can be contaminated with gluten in processing and you need to be careful if you have #CoeliacDisease.

These are the flapjacks I was talking about on this post. I baked them this afternoon. I had to miss out the stevia leaf as I couldn't find it anywhere. I think they would have been a lot sweeter had it been included.

I could do with a #Ceoliac alert dog (lactose and sugar too), but I'm not sure our aging foster dog is up for retraining.

Currently he alerts at anything food related, but that's his stomach talking.
