TBH I assumed male, but I don't really distinguish much between genders. There is more difference between any one person and another than statistically between genders as a whole. There are only percentages of more or less likely riding a bell curve.

And they're done! I'm so happy with how this turned out. I'm starting to feel a little more confident in being able to produce finished illustrations in traditional media, not just studies. 😊This is watercolor + gouache., with a little bit of color pencil and pastel for final touches.

An intricate octopus cut from a single piece of paper

Japanese artist Masayo Fukuda hand-cut this life-sized octopus from one sheet of paper. Known as Kirie in Japanese (translated as “cut picture”), the art form involves cutting intricate forms from a single sheet of white paper and then contrasting it against a black background to reveal the design.
