I'm a sucker for stories about niche, small-timer artists doing it for the love of the game (no one knows why), so I liked Craig Brewer's SONG SUNG BLUE. Also I'm happy to report that Kate Hudson deserved that best actress nomination.

I'm still annoyed by "is SINNERS a horror movie?" discourse. Many horror movies are *about* something. Many horror movies take a while to reveal they're horror movies. Many horror movies also dip into other genres. It's about trying not to get bit by vampires. Of course it's a fucking horror movie.
