On February 22, 1987, the first Airbus A320-100, MSN 001, registered F-WWAI, completed its maiden flight from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. Powered by CFM56-5 engines, it flew nearly 3.5 hours, becoming the first airliner with fully digital fly-by-wire controls and sidesticks. #Airways #Aviation

On 22 February 1993, the McDonnell Douglas MD-90 made its first flight. A stretched, modernized MD-80 derivative, it featured efficient IAE V2500 engines, seated up to 153 passengers, and competed with the A320 and 737NG before production ended in 2000 after 116 deliveries.
