I think I am DONE with this third Pagan Jones book. It was tough to say goodbye to a character I've been thinking about for over a decade. But off it goes to a copyeditor. And then book covers! And then publishing the whole trilogy! Holy socks, as Pagan would say. It's actually going to happen!

In the yard on a hot day putting out bird seed, and this cheeky gray winged thing follows me around, alternately whistling and grunting. I grunt back, sort of rhythmically, for a bit, inquiring, but can't understand the answers. It sat right over my head at one point. Nice underside there, buddy.

It was so cool! You would've loved it. Rows of doctor coats, medieval shoes, boxes of fake jewelry, 100-foot long rows of hats arranged by color, seeming acres of ties from the 1910s to modern day, hoop skirts and real chain mail next to fake chain mail.
Toured the Costume department here are Warner Bros today. Now I smell like 10 long black Matrix coats, 200 leather cuirasses from Troy, 8000 cheer uniforms, & fake diamond tiaras. So cool. Can't take photos except in the "shoe library" where costume designers put together shoe looks for characters.
In case anyone needs the hook for a heart pounding thriller.
