But also it just had me thinking about how as a woman you move through the world constantly wondering if you misread a situation…
… but you probably didn’t.
It’s exhausting!
Me: “my hair has been green since September. I just enjoy dying it”
Dude: “oh so you didn’t dye it for Saint patty’s day?”
Me: 🙄…. No.
Anyway, that place has the worst vibes but the good news is there are other bike shops that are much better in Denver.
And then the guy was like “so are you Irish?”
And I swear to god it took me several seconds to figure out what he was even asking me
(Oh it’s saint Patrick’s day next week and yeah I have green hair)
Like, I knew exactly what I needed & where it is in that store so I knew I wouldn’t even need to talk to anyone.
But then I go in there and immediately this guy is like “you sure you know what size you need?” 🙄
I told the guy I was good and just needed to purchase.
I’ve avoided this specific bike 🚲 shop in Denver bc every time I have gone in there, I’ve had a sexist/condescending interaction.
Today I needed some new tubes for my bike & it was close so I had all of these thoughts… like maybe I misread the previous interactions?
Got back our sequences for the intro bio "is this sushi what it claimed to be?" lab activity and the answer is a resounding "absolutely not"

The reason the indispensable (to me, anyway) Bodleian medieval manuscripts site has been down. This feels to me like the web equivalent of the destructive scanning of physical books, and I hate it.
