Completed my first Lino block yesterday and did a small print run. These were to be gifts for Christmas—but time got away from me. So here’s a corner taste until I get them mailed out.
This first block taught me a lot. It’s going to continue to be lots of trial and error as I continue to learn.
It’s not New Year’s Day without a big’ol pot of greens…
A new year. Here’s to new adventures! Lots more baking to come, new art projects long overdue, and hell, maybe even some new comic book ventures.
This was a star bread stuffed with Boursin cheese and garlic I made over the Christmas break…
Earlier this year, I made a promise to myself and it’s due time I start acting on it…as silly as it sounds, treating myself to this fancy apron and set of kitchen towels (Star Wars themed, of course) is the first little step.
Changes are coming in 2025.
Cranberry, brie, and walnut twist rolls are now complete. Bottoms caught just a little on one pan…but overall I’m happy with how they turned out.
Just put these rolls into the fridge to proof over night. Cranberry, Brie and walnut twists.
Another pumpkin treat off the line—a millionaire pumpkin tart.
First treat off out the oven is a cranberry pumpkin bread braid.
Got a handful of pumpkin treats I want to try my hand at…gonna be doing some holiday baking over the next couple of day.
It came! It came!!! Pre-ordered the new Pip-Boy back when the show dropped in April. I really like how compact it is compared to other models…though it is pretty tight on my bare arm. Can’t wait to really play with all the functionality of it once it’s all charged up!
Miso garlic pesto buns…been sitting on his recipe for a while and finally got the gumption to try it.
Something stirs…or rather…kneads….
‘Tis the season…broke into these bad boys yesterday…
Picking back up a project I starting poking at well over 2 years ago…requires reacquainting myself with medieval Welsh folklore.
Dessert completed—a raspberry custard tart.
The tart has been filled with a crème pâtissière…now to top it with some fresh fruits and it’s good to go.
In a bit of a rut…exorcising some emotions. Baked a tart shell…now to fill it.
As the other social media platforms continue to curdle and wither away, I’m gonna give another shot to being more “online” here…god help me.
Anyway, I rise from the dead one last time…
Loving The Cull!
bluesky's open, quote one art to promote yourself! 🍻🕸️
A couple days late, but I baked myself a birthday cake. It’s one of my favorites: pistachio, cardamom, and white chocolate cake.
Busting out these Fire Reds for my birthday.
Fell off the map there for a second…but I want to start putting more time in here as opposed to the hell site…
QUICK ADDED INFO:
1) Paid Gig.
2) I'm not on the hunt just yet...just putting feelers out now. I plan on starting this project in March.
3) Need character designs and a couple of pages for pitch.
4) If interested, please drop a link to your portfolio in this thread.
Here soon it looks like I'll be on the hunt for an artist for a slice-of-life GN series about a young alien learning how to bake for a pitch package. I'm looking for a cute, pink, bubblegum-pop inspired style.
Anyone know of someone I should be looking at?
Hello, old friends…it’s due time for us to get reacquainted.
Been seeing these query rejection poems floating around recently and couldn’t help but contribute.
Soliciting agents can be brutal, but a little levity never hurts.
They show up earlier ever year…
Being out of town for a bit has me behind on my Great British Bake-a-long…this next week I’ll be playing catchup.
Spent some time reading through my old "ideas/concepts" folder to maybe find the seeds for NaNoWriMo this year…I've got it down to two I'm waffling between.
A high fantasy realm in total collapse. Or a sci-fi world war set on a tidal-locked planet.
