Tweet by JK Rowling Celebrities who stampeded to cheerlead for experimental procedures on minors will find it extremely difficult to pretend they were inwardly sceptical all along, especially after rushing to smear as hateful and bigoted anyone questioning the evidence base for handing out puberty blockers, irreversible surgeries and hormones to children. If it were up to me, the doctors involved would all be in jail, but an honest assessment of how these children have been harmed must also examine the culture in which the scandal took place. Deviation from ethical standards of care has become not only acceptable, but laudable, and that's because large parts of elite professions, including medicine, had fallen for a dangerous, incoherent, quasi-religious ideology that's done widespread harm. Gender identity ideology only spread as far and as widely as it did because so many people in positions of power and influence fell over themselves to champion it in the belief that this proved they were super-progressive and sophisticated. I can only hope the photo ops and social media likes were worth it. Personally, if I'd publicly fundraised and advocated for child transition and then read @LeorSapir 's article, I'd never sleep again.

If your mother is on Twitter ranting about she knows better than the "elite professions", you are well within your rights to slap the phone out of her hand.

I am - and always will be - proud of my time as a Girlguiding ambassador. As a former Rainbow and Brownie myself, I know first hand what a difference these spaces make to girls. I've seen it in the faces of the young people I met on site visits - including trans girls, who were every bit as bright, joyful and deserving as any other child. Ashley James, celebrity star of Good Morning has resigned from Girl Guides in response to their exclusion of trans girls.

She wrote that in a DM she sent to a recent detransitioner she was love-bombing.

It's ironic that one of her most famous quotes is about how it is just as brave to stand up to your friends as it is to stand up to your enemies, when I have never, ever seen her criticise another "gender critical" person.

I would imagine she thinks of this as "playing defence."

This tweet by Parker now has thousands of likes, and very little pushback in the replies.

And I am almost 100% sure Rowling will say nothing about it, or, if she does say something, she will support the move.

Yes, here is Posie Parker, a woman whom JK Rowling has referred to as a "genius" campaigner, saying that this is their next target. In her replies if you go on Twitter you can see that she says "as soon as possible."

They want strict binary roles for the genders (or "sexes" as they put it.)

A tweet by JK Rowling answering a question about who banning trans girls from Guides is helping? "Answer: it helps girls. It tells girls they have the right to things of their own. But what if the "thing of their own" is a friendship with a girl in Guides who happens to be trans?

I honestly think Rowling has lost touch with how real people's lives actually work.

And, also, Rowling's movement is gearing up to get girls kicked out of Scouts, so this "answer" is horseshit.

I was a Scout, and then I was a Scout Leader in my 20s, and I can only imagine the devastation for the girls in the troop if JK Rowling and her minions forced a decision that they couldn't be Scouts anymore.

Some stuff still breaks through.

I wouldn't be very surprised if they found a parent to take a case against a school that allowed social transition.

They have so much money because they are fully embracing Right Wing support, and have JK Rowling on their side.

Yes, they absolutely want to do that. They don't believe anyone is really trans, and any hint of affirmation must be eradicated.

I'm not joking about this, if they had their way, anyone who so much as used a trans kid's name would be prosecuted, and if they were a teacher, fired.

I haven't used "TERF" seriously in years.

And there's nothing radical about their ideology.

They're just bigots.

People who want to erase the progress of the last few decades and go back to a time when women knew their place, and homosexuality was illegal.

They want a world where girls are confined to the Guides, and boys go to the Scouts, and they will want a feminine experience for the girls, and a masculine experience for the boys.

And they'll use lawfare to get there. They are well funded, and are getting no challenge in the press. 7/

I've seen "gender critical" activists say that cis women who suffer should accept their role as collateral damage in their "fight," because, again, they're not a women's rights movement, they exist to enforce binary sex roles on all of society. 6/

Graham Linehan did a podcast with Joey Barton, while he was up on charges for kicking his wife in the head. JK Rowling didn't comment on that at all, but she did speak up for Graham when he was arrested for inciting violence against trans women in toilets, a move which won't just hurt...4/

Every time I see some journalist or reporter frame Graham Linehan as a "women's rights activist," or describe JK Rowling as a feminist, I think they've lost their damn minds, or the ability to spend five minutes simply reading their Twitter accounts. 3/

I don't know how many times trans people and advocates have to be proved right before the centrists going along with the idea that these people are standing up for women's rights get it?

Kellie Jay Keen is the defacto leader of the "gender critical" movement, someone whom JK Rowling has described as a "genius," and here she is, in the wake of the decision to ban trans girls from Girl Guides, advocating for banning girls from Scouts.

And the best the EHRC can offer them in "advice" is to try to judge people (and, let's be honest, we're talking about women here) by how they look, and if you decide a butch lesbian is actually a man, no document she produces should allow her to prove otherwise.
